ggdad1951 Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 call me crazy, but if you don't pull the simple things off that truck, you'll be sorry. The cables gauges etc don't take much time and I'd bet w/in a few weeks you can pass them along at cost to a member here that is desperate for those items. I did that on the truck up in East Bethel Young Ed found and I'm already passing on parts to forum members. Quote

B1B Keven Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 I could really use a short throttle/choke/defrost type cable (no knob). Quote
41/53dodges Posted November 29, 2011 Author Report Posted November 29, 2011 well, there was an air cable for a heater, but it was siezed beyond repair. as for choke and throttle, I will be needing those for my truck(s) Quote

Young Ed Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 If he doesn't want the bracket I do. Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Plus core? Does he have someone that rebuilds the heaters and has a waiting list for the unit? If he did, he'd of had them out of there by now. He's gotta be after the copper and brass and doubling up on it's value at that.. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 The upull lots do the same thing here. I paid I think 32+$5 core for the 98 saturn radiator I pulled a month or so ago and I think also a $5 core on the heater box I pulled for Mark. I don't think the total charge was $52 though thats too much. Quote
KJ's Dodge Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Thanks for checking on the lights. I am sure the top of the cab lights will be put to good use! KJ Quote

They come with a guarantee then don't they? Quote
Young Ed Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 30 days from the place I bought from. They asked if I wanted them to mark the pilot house parts for warranty. I told them not to waste their time Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Yeah, accumulation of misc parts over period of years that may never get installed but you got to get them when they become available. Who knows how long before the next one show up. I'e got parts stored for over 7 years for 3 different projects. My guess the warranty is off them! Quote
Young Ed Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Dave I was pulling parts off a 53 and I don't even own a pilot house! And I was really tempted to pull some parts off the 66 dart convert they had too. Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 I've been developing plans for another pilothouse project I'd like to do but I REALLY need to finish the one I've got first. I'm NOT collecting parts for that future project until this one gets done. Hopefully there'll still be some around. Quote

Dave72dt Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 I've been tempted before. I've no room for another so I'll finish this one, drive it while I do the next two on the list. Last one belongs to my son so maybe he get to it before me. Then I'll hunt up a 5 window cab, B3 or 4 front sheet metal, B1 or 2 doors, BB engine or maybe one of the new Hemi's...... Quote
41/53dodges Posted March 7, 2012 Author Report Posted March 7, 2012 AND THE THING IS STILL FREAKIN' THERE! somebody bought the grille, some wheels, doors and some gauges! motor is still intact, and i think its workable Quote
Mike@DRH Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 I have a 48 1 Ton for parts. Probably none of the hard to find parts but the truck is complete. The only item missing (so far) is the Ram off of the hood. If you need some parts let me know and I'll check it out. Mike 651-437-4205 Quote
