T120 Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Whats this metric stuff with our old MoPars. None of my shop manuals for my cars show metric info! I guess I need to raise my Bonnet to measure my sparking plugs. ...Yeah,I kinda walked into that one .I did say it was a rough measurement, closest rule I had at the time with small graduations...To interpolate, somewhere between 3/32 and 1/8". Oh,and guess what? -we call them hoods up here as well. Edited November 22, 2011 by Ralph D25cpe Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 There are 6 applications for metric threads on all old mopars flatheads. I believe the measurement fits the bill. Nah... Quote
95ttoplt1 Posted November 22, 2011 Author Report Posted November 22, 2011 Well it runs!! And it purrs like a kitten. I checked the compression on one cyclinder after running it for a minute, and its back down to 90. So hopefully I just had too much oil in it?? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 yep..on the metric...always has been.. Quote

One thing I have done lately, is push the truck around a lot on thegravel driveway, and have hurt my right forearm and shoulder. I actually used a 4X4 post to lift the whole back end off the ground, using my shoulder, that is why it now hurts......LOL PS ever try 2 to 3 hours of walking in the middle of the night, which I do every time I am on night shift, now that is fun... Mark Haymond Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Ouch, my friends reminded me that the spark plug really does sit over a valve, not a piston. I'll think twice before I type out quick advice. Sorry. Quote

Hey Mark,Don't feel bad. When there is incorrect information posted, forum members aren't polite to the point where they are reluctant to bring it up.Most times in a forthright but polite manner. That said,no one knows it all Quote
