PatS.... Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Some of you may recall that in 2005 my nephew Aaron was involved in a very bad accident caused by a distracted driver. He spent 5 months in a coma but miraculously made a 95% recovery. He has a LOT of titanium everywhere as well. Well, this year he will be on Canada's Worst Driver 7. He's now 30, works full time and lives independently. He also has his drivers license but is quite nervous about driving, especially here where drivers are VERY bad. Watch the video on the home page of the show for more. http://www.discoverychannel.ca/Showpage.aspx?sid=28780 They shot the show in July in Toronto, and he came home a changed man...his confidence is WAY up there and he is no longer afraid of driving...and he's a good driver again. The show also has a reputation of using and severely abusing some unique cars...a Rambler Marlin, last year a brand new Camaro, and this year a 53? Nash. These cars get pummeled badly...hard to watch but funny at the same time I asked how the Nash fared but he can't talk until after the shows air. Seasons 1 to 6 are online, I'm not sure when season 7 will be online. If you're in Canada, it's on Discovery starting Monday the 24th http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXwEhYuauJc&feature=related Fast Forward to 23:55 Edited October 19, 2011 by PatS.... Quote
randroid Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Pat, We have the equivalent show here titled, surprisingly enough, "America's Worst Drivers". I've never watched it because if I want to see bad drivers I look out my office window but I'll check-out an episode or two to see if it's as depressing as I'm afraid it is. Thanks for posting. It's good to know Aaron is making some good progress. -Randy Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 one but only have to drive to witness bad drivers..I am not speakiing of the get caught up situations but pushing the envelope....of the worse in this area is the motorcycle drivers..seems they each and all have a death wish...I would never line dance between cars parked with flat tires much less rolling traffic..I am not sure if these guy realized how clsoe they are shooting the hole.. Don Coatney Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Pat; Glad Aaron is on the recovery road. Tim; I agree with the motorcycle fools. Especally the ones who feel they have the right to pass between cars stopped at a light or in a traffic jam. Way back when I smoked cigarretes I would hang my lit cigarrete out the window just far enough to stop these fools from passing me. Worked every time. Quote
Robert Horne Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Some of the worst drivers are the ones that drive like "Mr. Magoo". I have a Aunt, and another friend that are very scary to ride with, that drive in that manner. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Mr Magoo. That sure brought back some memories. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 what breed was Bowser, Magoo's 'dog' Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 what breed was Bowser, Magoo's 'dog' I believe he was a K-9. Orientation unknown? Quote
oldodge41 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 what breed was Bowser, Magoo's 'dog' Siamese cat. But shhhhh! Don't tell Magoo! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Magoo would not last 2 minutes on cartoon network today..he is not flinging boogers or eating out of a garbage pail or flipping crabby patties to feed some underwater squirrel..his best friend is not a cow..and I be he don't even know a beaver let alone a couple angry ones..(Norm and Dagget...they ok in my book) Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Bad drivers are everywhere. I've driven all over the US, and everyplace seems to have its own driving vices. But I tell ya what, rode in a car driven by a 72 year old lady in Boston a year ago - and I'm still farting pieces of the seat.... Quote
