Phill Powell Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Put me down for 4 x mechanically modified stock bodied cars - "steel is real" P.S. - All flatheads -"OHV is just a passing faze" Quote
Brad Lustig Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 about as stock as it is going to get...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/bigaadams/2005_0813Image0001.jpg That's a beautiful view, Tim! Quote
48mirage Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Currently mostly stock except for the paint. I have added airshocks so far. Next month I will add dual exhaust and a Holley 94 carb. I also picked up a head from a '54 Plymouth and milled it .040". I also have my eyes on a set of American Racing Wheels for the rear. I am a firm believer that the illusion of speed is more important than the points on my drivers license. Jim Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 My 42 Bizzy coupe's pretty darned stock ceptin for the camper conversion. She goes down hill real nice now. Quote
greg g Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Cute bit of photoshopping there. Here abouts there is a fellow who makes the swap meet circuit pedling stuff. His home away from home is one of them for real mounted on a 55/56 Packard chassis. I will snap a pic next time I run across it. Quote
james curl Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Reg, don't you get a little tired crawling in and out of the windows. I have a friend with a 48 P15 coupe who just moved to Grass Valley. It is a nice looking car. Dark blue, new paint and upholstery, wide whites you might see it around sometime, probably still has Texas license plates on it. Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Yeah, I've been meaning to take it back in to Maxwell Coach Works and have a door installed behind the back seat. If your friend from Texas wants to have a look at my old MOPAR beaters have him look me up. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Yeah, I've been meaning to take it back in to Maxwell Works. Inyeresting how many of our cars have paid a visit to the Maxwell Works for modifications. Glad we have a design expert on staff here. Quote
Guest jjmorrse Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 My 54 started out as a stocker mostly. after the 3rd regulator and the gen failed, the 12v electrics went in. The pickle jar windshield washer was incomplete, so it became my radiator puke can. exhaust manifold cracked, so a split dual from langdons went in.(work and sound great, but close to firewall). I also have an irritating tendency to remove stuff with weight that bolts on and off, such as bumper guards. Quote
martybose Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 I bought my 47 as a bone stocker with the intention of putting a V-8/auto in it. Got seduced by the flathead, so built it as a 50's hotrod, with Edmunds manifold and head, cast iron headers, etc. I'm not averse to updating, with a 12V system with alternator. I'm currently about to install a Langdon HEI distributor. I've currently got an original 5K RPM Sun electric tach, but it isn't very accurate, so I'm working on parts to install a vintage 5K RPM Stewart-Warner mechanical tach. Next on the agenda; front disk brakes! Marty Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Some really nice cars in this thread. Quote
BloodyKnuckles Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Mine is in the build up stage. It is what I concider to be a hot rod kustom. Trying to keep it 50's traditional (minus the spikes..). BloodyKnuckles Quote
