Plymouthy Adams Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Greg..any clues..it will soon be on the market..apparently it seems I have been given first dibs from the message I got today. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 Good guess...try a bit south and east... Quote
james curl Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 I know its English but the three spoke wheels scream Saab, but that looks like a Lotus emblem in the wheel. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 10-4 on English...Lotus..not..the wheels are the only thing I am not fond of..rest of the car is rather unique..definitely need different wheels..these Mustang throwbacks just would have to go..here is a shot of the right rear profile Quote
james curl Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Is that a new Chrysler product from mother FIAT? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 No..this car is approximately 22 years old..you had the mother country right earlier, England..the factory burned to the ground.. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 clue..as with a many of English cars..the bodies are the work of some individual but the drivetrain is totally borrowed....supposed to quite a peppy vehicle..740 KG..without seeing the block number I could not say if a high output but supposedly it is..figure 74 HP..also not sure if this has the 4 or 5 speed..did not get all the details yet..think this is bait.. Don Coatney Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 It is for sure an "IDONTWANTIT" Quote
james curl Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Is the running gear from a Rootes groupe vehicle, Simca. Sunbeam Imp, hillman, with a body by on of the Lotus 7 builders or TVR? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 James, you gave it a good run.. Mini derivitive..this is known as a Mini Midas Gold Coupe..the engine is that of the MG Metro..and MG always had the more potent engine..I have a MG Metro setup here at the house that should be about 80 HP when I drop it into my 62 MG 1100 Saloon..just recently discovered that there is a company that makes an axle adapter for the later engine to match my Hardy Spicer axles for a drop in type set up..my wife said that my twin carb setup is bigger than the engine..wait till she sees it with the header system attached...I hope to come up with some rather unique looking cold air induction..still in the planning and parts gathring stage for this project..I am trying to score a 3.1 final drive from a fellow in the UK.. greg g Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I was going for Marcos or uni power. Here's one with better wheels but minilites would look good also After driving it for three hours, are you going to be able to get out in a dignified and unassisted manor??? Quote
martybose Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I came in too late on this one; I would have guessed Ogle GT....... Marty Quote
Flatie46 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 In the pic Greg posted it looks like a remote controlled toy with the antenna proud above the roof line. I like the looks of it but I'd say it'd be like most English cars, too small for me. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 I assure you this..this car being totally fiberglas one pice design body and frame...it is lightweight and the A+ 1275 with the most common 3.44 FD will be quite the ride..give it a 3.1 FD and the ride will not be so quick off the line but still impressive..but an 80MPH cruise will be very much an easy run. One thing for certain..I think on any given day you would never pass two other on the road... Quote
