Labrauer Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with the drivers side front tire that is leaning out at the bottom. I checked for looseness in the tire and there isn't any that I can come up with. The one on the passengers side is straight up and down. The car is on jack stands in the front on the frame. Thanks for the replies and I still can't get this pic thing right. Larry Brauer:confused: Quote
michael.warshaw Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 could be bad tire rod, some piece of he suspension maybe bent from road wear. or it might your camber and toe might just be out of whack, if you go to any decent shop they will throw the car in the air and know your issue in about 5 seconds. yourpc48 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 my passenger side has the bottom out a little. Its probably an alignment problem if everything else is tight. I know mine needs an alignment. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 sounds like a bit of camber issue..actually your tire is leaning it at the top..this is adjustable..you can ballpark it yourself..see your manual.. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Sounds pretty normal to me. What does it look like when it is not on jack stands? Quote
bamfordsgarage Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 I see Don's been jacking around with Model T parts... Quote
greg g Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 For those wishing to see the pic. It is normal for them to hang top in while up in the air . Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 I see Don's been jacking around with Model T parts... You have a trained eye. I have had these split axle jack stands sence the early 60's. I trust them over all others as there is no moving parts. Quote
Labrauer Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 The tires look good when it is sitting on the ground. Tires are nice and straight it seems. I just figured that something was wrong because the other tire doesn't hang like that. Larry Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Do the tires seem to be wearing evenly.......on both the outside and inside edges??? Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 You have a trained eye. I have had these split axle jack stands sence the early 60's. I trust them over all others as there is no moving parts. I couldnt have told you what they came from but I was going to mention it myself Don. I dont have any but I love the axle housing as jack stands bit. I have seen them used for grinder stands as well. As far as the camber problem goes I would put it on the ground and check it with an anglefinder or level. Make sure your on a good flat and level surface. Quote
