Don Coatney Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 all started with a toy ford truck. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=qybUFnY7Y8w Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 I wonder how long it took to figure out how to make all that stuff work, how long to set it up (and then re-set it after a performance), how much all that stuff involved cost. Fun to watch though. Quote
Smokeybear Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 That was cool. I love Rube Goldberg type machines. Very neat. Quote
littlemo Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Dang Don, I'm so tired from just watching that and thinking about all the work that went into it, I think I'll go back to BED !!! PS. How did your "front shock relocation "project come out ??? Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 That was great! I'm already sharing that with others on the internet. They have several other clever videos also... The second one is the same song as the one Don Posted. I'm guessing it was the first "low budget" video then they got some sponsorship and made the Rube Goldberg video. Very, very clever. Thanks for sharing Don! Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 What ho! Did not see any damage done, only slight disorder... ...but then again, disorder is the way of the universe. Of course it had to be a ford bringing it all about... We have an proverb here in flats of western Finland... it translates about: "A maiden servant (piika) is no man and a ford ain't no car" Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Those are some well trained pooches in the first one. This reminded me of the Honda Accord comercial that was making the rounds in emails a while back. All done with Honda Accord parts. Quote

We have an proverb here in flats of western Finland... it translates about: "A maiden servant (piika) is no man and a ford ain't no car" The simple push of a toy truck starts a row of dominos tumbling and the power multiplies with enough energy to cause a piano to fall from the sky and a sledge hammer to smash a television. I call that inventive damage amplification and I love every step of it. Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) The simple push of a toy truck starts a row of dominos tumbling and the power multiplies with enough energy to cause a piano to fall from the sky and a sledge hammer to smash a television. I call that inventive damage amplification and I love every step of it. Potential energy transferred to kinetic energy.., ;-) I loved it as well. Good music also... Sorry for the refer to an local proverb, it really does not relate to this at all, just my flow of thoughts... However that describes my attitude to fords, tend to spread the gospel whenever whereever... Edited August 2, 2011 by Uncle-Pekka Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Don, I think you have made my tombstone for me. Inventive damage amplification. The story of my life. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 You've got way too much time on your hands. lol That must have took days to set up. Tom Quote
Young Ed Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I've always liked this one of theirs. Little lower budget http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=qybUFnY7Y8w Quote
roadworthy Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 from what I understand, OK Go did that in one take for that video, no test runs Quote
Don Jordan Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I'm not sure but that seemed like a lot of work. Surely there must have been an easier way. And who is this Rube guy anyway? Very clever, very creative. Quote
