I just picked up a running '52 331 ci big six (30") with transmission and driveshaft.

I'm not sure yet what to do with it, but cramming it into a '48 half ton panel I have seems pretty interesting. It would entend nearly to the driver's seat, but what the heck!

Put it in the back and make it a pusher. The engine is too heavy for the front end of that little panel.

You know I'm kinda thinking of the same thing. The neighbor is cleaning out the garage and there is a slightly hopped up 383 sitting in the corner.......................

The big motor is now in my shop. Sometime I need to figure out what to do with it. For now it's a mental exercise to come up with ways to make use of it.

One thought - put it in a 48 panel I have. It's much longer and heavier, so it'll stick back more than the 218 Dodge put in. And it's heavier, so it might need to go even farther back for weight. Either way, shifting would be a problem. I'm wondering if it would be possible to mate an automatic overdrive to it?

Since it has 6 intake ports, it could use individual port fuel injection. I know nothing about fuel injection. Anyone know of a website to educate the unknowing about fuel injection?

In my dream state I can imagine that the big 7 main, heavy duty beast with a hot cam, compression bumped up a bit, fuel injection and headers would be quite an impressive hunk of iron.

find a COE to drop it into to haul your 48 in the flatbed portion and to haul your Monster Trailer in your quest to find all the Pilothouse Orphans in the lower 48 and bring them over to your place.

Or: Donate it to Tim so he can build a mid-engine Pilothouse Bonneville Racer.
