Haven't got a clue about the other numbers. Quote
townwagon Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Can't help on the 67-B 44443, but that looks like a DMV issued number. T30647191 on the other hand is the engine number from your truck. T306-47191 T306 is a 1951-53 B-3-B or B-4-B according to the parts books. Hopefully your truck has the original engine, or that title is not very useful. If your engine has been swapped I would either restamp your current engine to match that number (the legality of which I will leave on your own shoulders) or contact Chrysler for a built card. If that engine number, and your actual serial number (found on the large tag on the door jamb, and the frame) are both on the build card, it is possible that the local DMV might honor your title and switch to the serial number. You would have to get the right clerk on the right day for that to work though. Eric Quote

He's got a 54 plymouth car engine in his truck per the block #. Sounds like requesting the build card is a good route to try and get the DMV to correct it. Quote

The 54 Plymouth engine was in the other request. Kind of confusing. Quote

You are right I see that now. Well hopefully the first poster still has his engine as Eric mentioned. Dads 40 plymouth pickup had an engine replacement at some point but when it was done the original # was stamped onto the new engine. Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I apologize for any confusion. 2 different people requesting number translation on 2 completely different trucks The second one was mine. I ended up putting a 822 in front of of the 44443 and plugging it into the decoder and it ended up with the T306 number. All the info matches my truck as far as model, year, size. No engine with it and I'm definitely not going to stamp that number into my V8. 67-B may pertain to the year registered to that owner and weight class given for the license. Thought maybe it was a number given to an option package. Quote
townwagon Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Dave, what is the number on your frame or serial number tag on the door jamb? If that matches the 67 B number you might be okay, but I would guess the number on your title matching a T306 era truck with the 822 added was pure chance. All the titles I have seen show the full serial number if they include anything at all, I have never seen an abbreviated serial number, there would be no point. I stand by my original post, I think your truck was originally registered by the engine number instead of the serial number. Go check your truck and see what numbers you find. If they don't match the number on your title I think you may need to get a build card and talk nice to the DMV folks, or call a title service. Good luck! Eric Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 That door tag is long gone. Managed to misplace it years ago and the frame has been modified at the point where the numbers would have been. Actually, modified twice. Like I said, no engine either. Didn't have one in it when I bought it.....or trans. As rough as it was, I had planned on rodding it when I bought it so didn't need or want the motor. That 67-B was the really odd part of the ID Quote
