Last Thursday I sent a rear wheel cylinder to White Post to get resleeved and rebuilt, it came back today, boy was I pleased until I opened up the box and saw that I sent the wrong side. In my haste last week I didn't actually check the wheel cylinder other than I knew I had an old one that belonged to the Plymouth. So now I have the CORRECT passenger side rear wheel cylinder all boxed up and ready to send when the Post Office reopens at 1PM

Oh well, my mistake, but in the long run, I will have both rear wheel cylinders resleeved and rebuilt, which is a good thing.

Now the Plymouth will have to sit another week anyway, oh well, that is my fault and no one elses,

Bob,

Before I moved to a place where the air was too thin to fly them I was involved with building flying model airplanes, and I learned that the most common mistake made in building them is to make two left (or right) wings. Made me embarrassed the first time I did it but after the second time I learned to laugh about it, and that's when it stopped happening. I didn't know our wheel cylinders were "side specific" and I would have made the same mistake. Fortunately I'm now old enough that I can blame it on CRS.

Thanks Randy, I appreciate that.

Yes, on my Plymouth one wheel cylinder as a "L" will the other has a "R" and the threads for the brake lines go to the rear of the wheel cylinder.

Bob,

I could create a huge thread listing the times I have done things like this before. I miss seeing your neat country travel pics:).

On a similar possible mixup:

I had a checkup for a DVT (Deep Vain Trombose) and the doctor checked my right leg and commented that it really had cleared up.

As I thought that she was checking for comparison I commented that maybe she should check my left leg where the DVT actually occured......

Good thing I was not being operated on....

I was having eye surgery (retina tear) and ALL the pre-op paperwork kept refering to the wrong eye. I corrected it everytime I saw it, but I was still pretty concerned up until I was talking to the doc just before they wheeled me into the operating room. He listened to me, and said "no problem" pulled out his pen and drew a big arrow on my forehead pointing to the correct eye!

When my wife went in for a knee replacement she used a sharpie and pointed an arrow to the knee in need of replacement with a YES. Another arrow on the other leg pointing to the other knee with a NO. There was a third arrow pointing the other way with a MAYBE:D

Bob, too bad you'll be down another week, but like you said, both will be done now. Temporary inconvenience, Permanent improvement. I got both my sleeved front cylinders from Hagen's Hiway installed the other night along with the sleeved master cylinder I picked up from ebay. Hopefully after bleeding the system and installing the floor it will put these nagging brake problems behind me.

Does CRS explain going to the drug store and refilling the wrong prescription? If so, I have it too.

I went to Safeway yesterday to pick up my prescription renewals, picked up some groceries and came home...without the prescriptions which was the reason for going in the first place!

By the time I realized it, they were closed

I just showed this to my wife, she laughed. Last Monday she took her Auntie and Uncle to hospital for a cataract operation each. They both got an arrow on their forehead.

Over the past week or so I got the heater in my 46 pickup removed, installed a unbroken stainless band and the new firewall spacer I got from Chet. Put it back in and on Sunday went for a drive over to Dads to try and get the air out of it so I can put the coolant I drained out back in. As I left I checked all 4 of the hood latches. Got about half way there when I heard an odd clunk, looked in the rear view mirror just in time to see something come from under my truck to be hit by the car behind me and launched towards a side street. Its a fairly busy street so I continued on to Dads and then he and I came back over there in his 51 convert which also needed a test run after a repair. Found my radiator cap on the sidewalk with only a few scratches from hitting the pavement!

I had surgery on my right knee one time. They did the same thing. Took a big black marker and put an X on the knee. My only fear was that someone would take that to mean, "Not this one. The other one."

They did the correct knee in the end but it doesn't inspire confidence.
