Jim Shepard
Regarding the bolts and studs that pass through water gallies in our motors, whats the best way to seal these?
Merle Coggins
I used pipe thread sealant, the paste type not teflon tape. It seems to have done the trick. Merle Edited March 29, 2011 by Merle Coggins
John-T-53
I second that. I've used everything and PTFE thread tape works the best, especially on head bolts. I even used it on the spark plugs in combo with the ever-dry cups and it holds up well.
ggdad1951
well, w/o having run the engine (which means that I have no idea how it works) high temp RTV is on my engine.
Dave72dt
Loctite now makes a special sealant just for that purpose. I used Permatex Aviation Gasket sealant on them. Worked for me.
