thrashingcows Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 What can you say but...WOW!!! Absolutely a beauty!!! Quote
Andydodge Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Saw the car listed the other day, as the Oz Dodges used Plymouth bodies, etc I was particularly interested in the presentation of this Plymouth........if I had the funds I would buy this car in a flash.........an absolute gem.......andyd Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Man, that is one nice old Plym. Anyone needing reference info on this model car ought to use "cut and paste" to lift and save some of those pictures for future info. I thought I'd post this one since people sometimes ask about the wheel pinstriping. As I recall, it was pretty similar thru all the 1940s (someone correct me if not right). The seller says the rim has been re-done, but the stripes look to be correct. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 1940 Plymouth business coupes are beautiful from every angle and this one is no exception. I love it. If I had the spare cash, and the space to keep it, this car would already be on a ship to the UK!!! Quote
John Reddie Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 This a beautiful Plymouth and a great presentation by the seller. John R Quote

old stovebolt Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Anybody else see the remnant damage to the right rear filler panel, floor, and gas tank? Looks like they backed into something many moons ago.... And yes, it is a very nice car, I would like to own it. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Driving with the choke and throttle cables pulled out? Very nice looking car. Quote
RobertKB Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Sitting at $15,600.00 with about 5 hours to go. Wish I had the cash. Quote
RobertKB Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 $ 16,358.00 final. Nice car and a decent price for it. Certainly better looking than the Chevs and Fords of that year which usually go for more money. That '40 Plymouth coupe is what I call a sweetie! Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Anybody else see the remnant damage to the right rear filler panel, floor, and gas tank? Looks like they backed into something many moons ago....And yes, it is a very nice car, I would like to own it. I did. It looks like the car was rear ended on the passenger side. The damage extends into the trunk floor and the gas tank. I can't find where this damage was mentioned in the description. Just curious......Would points be deducted by the POC judges ? Still ....a very nice car though. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 A very fine looking car indeed!! How come all the good cars come up when you're broke! lol Tom Quote
