steveplym Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 It is almost 50 degrees here in Southern Illinois today. I spent the last week or so installing a few Christmas presents. I bought a set of chrome smoothies and bought new leaf springs from Espo. The car needed new tires anyway so I bought the wheels and new tires. Rear end was sagging a bit and the new springs brought it up at least an inch or so. It has a pretty neat stance now. Drives even better than it did too. Took it out to the state fairgrounds here in town and took a few pics. I am so ready for spring, and getting around the old cars and car folk. Quote
1940plymouth Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I am so envious, thanks for sharing. The ground is covered in snow here and the roads are white with salt Quote
busycoupe Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 The car looks great! I started mine in the garage, just to keep it running. It was 30 degrees here today, huge snow piles and lots of salt on the roads. Your wheels and tire look good. Where did you get them? Did the come mounted and balanced? Dave Quote
steveplym Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Hey Dave, Those are cragar wheels, bought them from Jegs. I had a good friend of mine mount and balance them. Bought the tires from a local dealer. Quote
55 Fargo Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Steve, looks great, wish we at least had a break in winter at times like you folks on the Cusp of the North and South...... Quote
busycoupe Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks for the info Steve, I have to get wheels and tires after the spring thaw. Dave Quote

Niel Hoback Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 It looks a lot like mine, except its better in every way. It even has two more doors than mine! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Steve, the car is lookin' good. Did you get radial tires? Were you able to use that fender you got down here? It got up to 75 degrees here in S W MO today. Drove the convert to the office this morning.....to work my one Sat morning per month I still do. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Steve, your P15 is sure a fine looking car!!!! I drove PLYWOOD over to the Silver Auction's Last Chance auction, at the Fort McDowell Casino, today. I was lucky to park right next to the entry gate and spent a few hours observing the auction and all of the people stopping to look PLYWOOD over, before they purchased their tickets and entered the event. I hope PLYWOOD added to the enjoyment, of their day. Charlie Olson, Auction Reporter, The Wood Car company Quote

Ended up going with 15x6 rims with Firestones, 205 75 R15. It drives great. Had radial tires before, they were reaching the eleven year mark so I figured that was old enough. Plus they were showing some wear from the front end problems I resolved last year. It was time. It's funny you said that about the fender. I moved it yesterday, it's in my storage room, I need to work on that and get it on the car. The fender I have on the car is showing a few more cracks. Too many projects and not enough time. Planning on driving the car to Nashville in May though for Goodguys. Looking forward to driving the car a bit more this year. Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Steve, while at the fairgrounds you should have jumped on the dirt track and turned a few laps Quote
