Greg, I thought I would start another thread on just this Topic WPC meeting in St. Jay Vermont July 13-16. Steve and Jim (a couple of the original tail gaters) called and told me to they were going and to check it out. Not many details on the website, yet I have already blocked out the dates and preparing for the trip. My plans are to make a stop at the Meca of Flathead performance, AOK Racing, better known as George Asche July 10, then up to Buffaloe, long the border, Burlington and then St. Jay by the 13th. My wife is going to fly in, so then after the show leave St. Jay, head back for a visit to Niagra Falls (wife will fly out) and then back to St. Louis. Breaking in the WPC group with a tail gate party, by that loud group houligan modified car owners, would be a great idea.

Im in, Steve and Jims are in, You, thats four a pretty good start to a "gang"

You almost have to pass through here to get from Buffalo to VT. Its 2 1/2 hrs from Buffalo to Syracuse. and about 6 hours from here to The VT location. Back when the POC had the summer meet in Burlington, Bob and Wanda from Indy met up here and we then went up to VT. Couple alternative ( scenic as opposed to I 90) ways to go from here. Through Saratoga (good auto musium there) and Glenns Falls, or through Troy NY and up rt 7 and then up and over to ST.J. Like to hear from the New England guys and also NJ Pa folks also. A trip through Burlington is always good for the Magic Hat Brewery and the New England Culiary Institute Restaurant. Hemmings place isn't far away either.

Also might want to set up a rondevous at the I 91 I89 junction in VT to meet up with folks coming from points in NE.

We will put it on our calander an plan on having some fun. Wonder if the WPC gets their knickers in a knot regarding modified cars????

Might want to put this on the truck board and ammend your title to include out Dodge bretheren, Chryslers and Desoto's too.

I might be able to make that myself... I should have my car back together and running by then.

A couple suggestions about Niagra Falls...

On my "must do" list:

See the falls. Go in the morning on the Canadian side and beat the crowds. On the American side, its a lot more park like and spread out. Its really more relaxing. Park the car near the Cave of the Winds. Take the trolley (or walk) to all the falls sites. Take your time and relax.

Do the Maid of the Mist from either side. They give out raincoats, but you will still get a little wet.

Cave of the Winds from the American side. Again raincoats and put all your stuff in the car (that's why I suggest parking near there). They also give you sandals to wear. You will get wet, but its worth it. The Canadian side has a similar tour, but no where near as good,

Butterfly Conservatory on the Canadian side. 1000's of butterflies flying free in a big eco-dome.

Skylon Tower in Canada (just don't eat in the restaurant). Observation Tower in the US.

A couple things that are nice, but not on the "must do" list are Niagara on the Lake is a town north of the falls in Canada. Lots of shops and good places to eat. Try the ice wine.

I'm trying to convince my wife to have faith enough in "Ruby" to make a 5-6+ hour drive from Central Mass up to St. Johnsbury VT. Would love to hear from other who might be headed that way from my area, or passing through. I'm still a newbie with this car, but anxious to do a road trip in her. Traveling together would give me a little confidence boost. Just downloaded the registration, it's included herein for convenience if anyone wants a copy. - Mark

Moose said it was on his schedule. Would be geat to have you guys and meet you along the road some where. I will be making reservations shortly for the hotel. My wife is goint to a concert on the 13th so she will probably not be around, but I can cook taters. I am free to adopt what ever itenerary Mark wants to adopt coming east from the falls. Looks like Tuesday would be the travel day from here.

Any more thought from your end Mark?? Have you heard from anybody else about the trip?

I may have spoken too soon. It is on my calendar, but there is a lot of other stuff happening this summer for me--

I just accepted an offer on my house, so now I need to buy another one and move in by the end of June.

I really don't think my wife would want to ride that far away from a new house when she's gonna be 9 months pregnant with our third(due a few days after we would get back!) Also, wouldn't want to be 4 or 5 hours from her and the kids right then either.

Oh well, there'll always be another time, right?

I still don't know if I can make the WPC event or not, but its on my calendar. I'm near the Falls and would be glad to hear from folks planning to play tourist on the way to Vermont. If you wanna go to the Canadian side (recommended if you have the time), I can provide info to make the border crossing "easier" - depends on your point of view :D. Before 9/11 I coulda got you across in a breeze, but even I get secondaried at the border now (and I'm the #2 guy for CBP here!), best bet is to have the right documents. I'd like to meet some of the forum members that I've only known in the electronic universe.
