1940plymouth Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 This morning the phone rang at 6am, it was my nephew in Rochester saying that his Mother had passed away at 5:30 this morning. She was my wife's oldest sister and this was unexpected. Joyce was 70 years old and had COPD, but she had been doing fine. My son and wife drove up to Hamilton, NY to see her family as that is where her sister lived. When they got home tonight our other son called saying his wife, young son and him are leaving tomorrow around noontime to drive here from Oklahoma and then Patty's sister in Florida called saying she is also drivning up in the morning. Just wanted to share our family happenings with you all. One heck of a way to see family, at funerals, life is short and we should spend more time together as we never know.............. Thanks, Bob Quote
Niel Hoback Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Bob, know that you are not alone, we all know what it's like to be where you are. I hope and pray that you and your family will find comfort in each other and your faith. Thats why you have your family to lean on. Your friends are out here for you to talk to when you want to say something. Quote
Greenbomb Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Well, you are not alone. Our brother-in-law died @ 64 yo a couple days after Thanksgiving. 3 weeks later we had to put our dog down and then to cap it off the Brother-in-law's Dad died just before Christmas. Not that any of this changes your circumstances, but maybe it helps some to know your not the only one. Prayers sent for you and your family. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Well, our daughter and son in law Dale (bobt, jr on here) came down from Kansas City for New Years eve.....to hang out with the ol parent types. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive. On their way home yesterday, Dale began having chest pains so they stopped in the town of Harrisonville, a few miles before Kansas City. They took him by ambulance to a KC hospital, where it was determined a stint he had from a previous heart attack 9 years ago was completely blocked. So it was replaced with a new one. He should get out of the hospital in a couple days. Bob, sorry for your loss......and condolences to others who have esperienced losses. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 My condolances for your loss. And, as has been mentioned, you are not alone. My Father passed on Dec. 11th (77 yrs old). It was a crazy few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas but it was nice to see all of the family. Too bad it takes these type of circumstances to get the families together. Merle Quote
1950 Special Deluxe Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Sorry for your loss Bob. Neil Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Bob, Sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. Harold PS: I had a semi-famous cousin who was a professional boxer living in a retirement home in Florida. I promised myself that I'd contact him to learn more about him and his part of the family. That will never happen because I learned recently that he passed away a couple of months ago. Maybe we should all make that phone call, write that note, or whatever else we intend to do TODAY instead of tomorrow because no one can predict the future. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Sorry for your loss Bob. It always seems to occur around the holidays, which makes it worse. Tom Quote
