John Mathias Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Some of you have asked me recently to locate/look thru my parts for different things. My radios, running board struts, spot lights, ect... Unfortunatly, I have broken my back in two locations, lower and mid lower. Meds are having a field day in the brain deparment. I would like to say I was doing something really cool when it happened, but no, I was just sledding with my 3yr old son. His first time, probably scarred him for life on sledding now. At least I was spending quality time with him. So, I won't be able to dig around to locate/take pics of the stuff you asked for, sorry. Quote
Reg Evans Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Ouch ! Take of it and do what the Doc says. Bad backs are NO FUN !!! Quote
41/53dodges Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 ow! is it just plain broken, or is there some paralysis involved? either way, that sucks dude! Quote

John Mathias Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 Been asked by a few people for my injury updates. Sorry, slow on the updates, can't sit in one spot very long. Two vertebrae are broken, look like collapsed boxes on one side. I am on short term disability right now until March 1st, then another eval. Maybe at that time I will go back to work on light duty, behind a desk until I get better, won't know anything until then. Hard part is keeping from playing with my son, he just doesn't understand, then again, he tells everybody he meets: "My daddy's hurt, his back is broken". But if he's running through the house and falls: "Help me, I broke my back". Great huh? Gotta love kids, drama king and all. Quote
Dan Babb Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Good luck with your continued recovery. Quote
John Mathias Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 Just got home from the Dr office, he said everything it looking good. Now I get to go back to work on light duty, and go to physical therapy twice a week. At least he said all is looking good with no surgury needed as of right now. Maybe in a month or so I can start working on the trucks again:) Quote
ggdad1951 Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 as long as the therapist is good looking too! Glad to hear you are doing well! Quote
Barry Maxwell Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 John: Ditto the previous posts. I am glad that there is a bright light at the end of your tunnel. Quote
