Guest dadsdream Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 how much work is it to turn doors with vent windows into non vent window doors? or does anyone want to trade? 48-50 style door that is. Thanks Eric Quote
smallblockjunkie Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I did it on my truck. It's not hard to do at all. Just cut the post out of it and get one piece glass and put it in. Then again I changed to power windows with all new hardware. It shouldn't be any different with the stock hardware. Quote
Bob_Koch Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 what's the problem with keeping the vented windows? Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 how much work is it to turn doors with vent windows into non vent window doors?or does anyone want to trade? 48-50 style door that is. Thanks Eric Most likely a lot of work but I must ask why:confused: Quote
Dave72dt Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I've been seriously considering it myself. With my chopped top, a non- vent windowed glass setup would be considerably easier than reworking the vent window. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Anyone got enough books to show if the vent window parts are the same between 46-47 and 48 and up? Quote
Guest dadsdream Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) The main reason for wanting to change is to make the truck look more like the picture of the one my dad had. i posted a pic of it earlier. a black and white photo. i would attach it again but my slow butt dialup is being extremely slow tonight. also i figure that is one less place for water to leak in. smallblockjunkie: could you send me some pics of your power window setup or a list of the parts you used? thanks in advance. Eric. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=22954 if this works i added a link to an earlier post where i included the picture Edited December 16, 2010 by dadsdream Quote

Of course you will have to get new fuzzies and window channel all universal stuff so not hard to find. got mine from so cal speed shop Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 What about moving the front window track? Did you get a track from a non-vented door, or did you fabricate the front window track from scratch? Quote
smallblockjunkie Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 the track comes with the window kit Quote
