it seems i need a new oil pan for the truck, as this one seems to be weeping from everywhere below the bottom sump area. does anybody know where to get a new or NOS one? VPW only has used, for $55 each. i have a hard time buying something used i cant even see a picture of, especially for $55.

I have this pan from my 50 Plymouth. I had some repairs done to it,it is very solid except for a very, very tiny pin hole by the drain plug. I circled it so it can be found to be welded. The pin hole is so minor, I drove with it for a long time without even seeing a drip. Let me know if this would work for you.

Is your oil pan leaking or the seals and or gaskets? Just how much is your oil pan leaking and is it repairable? I had to weld and modify my oil pan when I installed a long block flathead in my P-15. I still have a slight drip and leak about 1/2 quart every 2-3 thousand miles. But at this loss rate it would take a long long time to lose $55.00 worth of oil. I dont think anyone here has a totally dripless flathead.

I've found a NOS Hemi pan-never have seen a NOS regular Flattie 6 truck pan. Thats gonna be a tough find. Like Don says and I agree hard to find a drip less 6 MoPar flat head 6. Straight 8's though are a drip less engine if built right!

do you need a front sump or rear sump?. i have a front sump from a truck. the dipstck enters the pan on driver side on the pan, not through the block.

i'm changing to rear sump to install in a 50 4dr. pan looks good but appears to have a sealer smeared arrond the dipstick entry plate. was it leaking??

sorry i don't know but looks like easy to remove sealer and repair properly by rebrazing plate to pan.. $25.00 plus shipping cost???. sorry but i live on the

"right coast",which is really the west coast!. zip 95350 i you want to check

shipping. willing to ship greyhound express, found it to be cheapest and fastest. believe it or not. i bought a 49 ply. nos fender from long island n.y

guy shipped greyhound to ca. for $70.00 and i got it in three days.unbelieveable

anyway, if interested let me know.on this board or:dougj07@sbcglobal.net(best).

new to this great site. love the info.

i dunno, on a closer look, it looks like front and back seals are leaking. it made about a 3" puddle in all the time it has sat in the garage, about a year in total now. i only question the pan because it is badly pitted on the bottom.

How much oil did your dip stick say you lost? What does a quart of oil cost?

dunno how much i lost, i recently changed the oil after finding some crap in it, probably some old sludge or something. whatever it is, its insignificant. my father is just requesting that i try to fix it. he is accustomed to new vehicle that always start and dont leak and you never pop the hood, so you see where that goes.

I suggest you buy one of the automotive drip pans to keep the mess of the garage floor and leave your oil pan alone.
