Here's the link to this year and past years dash plaques for the BBQ.

Can't seem to get them to post here or get bigger on PhotoBucket. Must be a code thing from the designer.

I'll have a bunch from each year to hand out! :D

As I always am a vendor at Spring Fling, Finally as the BBQ is moved up, I get to come! Looking forward to seeing everybody.

We changed the date this year to avoid Spring Fling in hopes you could make it.

Glad you're coming. I think a lot of people will be there this year.

I just checked the weather report. Suppose to be 69 degrees and sunny. Love it!

Out thisa way in Caliyfornia, the weather has been great for the production of grass! Rain, sun, rain, rain, sun rain, clouds, rainrainrainrain, and tiny bit O' sun. Neddless to say, the Weed Warriors have been out the last few sunny days and I have been no different. Clearing a path through all the green stuff has been a priority this week and apparently I'm not getting any younger! I'm so happy for the cattle part here, cuz grass equals money....less hay needed. But for the homestead, it means more round-up, gas and linetrimmer. I can't wait for the burgers, dogs, and trucks...cuz man, I'm earning it this year! lol.

Looks like fun!

I'm close enough to make a run to Clements. Not sure I'll have a Pilot House to drive by then, depending on the date, but I should be able to bring my '72 Challenger if nothing else.

Lisa and I are probably going to arrive in this 58 tri toned clunker.

I'm not sure I'll have my transmission project complete enough to drive the truck over there this Saturday....Would anyone be offended if I showed up in a....Chevrolet?

It's my only other vehicle!!!

Man.....you guys know I would, but my dance card is already full! Bryan's truck is done towed and here, and I'll be heading to Valley springs tomorrow to get Jerry's Spring Truck after work. Waiting to hear from Jon about his in Lodi..but I'm ready to go.

Update on the grass: first off, thanks to Don C. for singin' to us all, awesome. lol. Ya Dave...these cows are happy...of course happiest when standing on my back lawn with the cottontails...!! And finally, broke my mower on the old plow by the 49 1.5 ton truck. Called my brother and is coming to the rescue. Thanks bro!

Man O' man.....rain tomorrow, than clear skies Friday Sat Sun.....BBQ should be in the warm sun. *whew* :D

Well........I just wanted to be the first poster of a photo for the 4th annual Pilot-House BBQ. We made it almost as far as the El Camino off ramp on hwy 99 maybe half way to Tims place when the truck didn't want to go any more. I coasted over to the right as far as possible with cars flying past us. Got out and opened the hood thinking out loud to my wife Lisa....oh,it's just a lose coil wire or something simple Dear. Relax.....we'll be on our way in just a minute.

NOPE !!! No gas to the carb. CRAP !!!! But just then a good samaritan pulled over and asked if he could help. He just so happens to have a tow strap in the bed of his Fword Ranger and hooked onto my front bumper and towed us off the freeway to a VW shop parking lot. After a little trouble shooting by the good samaritin (Jeff)and myself we determined that the fuel pump had given up so I bought an electric one from the VW shop. They loaned me the tools to install it and in only an hour we were on our way again. Yahoo !!!!

Suddenly the 315 V8 started sounding like a 315 V5 !!!!!! OH NO MORE CRAP !!!!! We pull over again and find that the points are a special shade of charcoal and are gapped at about 0. I give up cause I've already spent too much time on my back under the truck and ask Lisa to call some tow companies. Thank God for cell phones cause she finds one right away that will come and get us and carry us and the Sweptside back home the 60 miles.

We left our house this morning at 6:30 and arrived back home at 2:00 pm. Shoot...I was lookin forward to a B1-BBQed burger and seeing everyone and their trucks. Rats !!!! Maybe next year. Shoulda/coulda drivin Old Yeller.

The 4th Annual BBQ was a great sucess with several new trucks and new travelers whose trucks couldn't make it this year. There will be a bunch of pictures of course, but I need to take care of a bit of business first.

Again, my good friend Don has missed our shindig out west. And, to make things worst, he may have gone to a different party on the same weekend!! So we cooked up an awesome burger, put it by one of Don's favorite racecars and waited....nothing! So we cut BIG RED loose, cuz...well... he couldn't stand it anymore and convinced everyone Don wasn't gonna make it. As you can see, Don missed a good burger! lol...... maybe next year.:D
