Captain Neon Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I still remember the night three years ago that Sophocles went in to convulsions, and the decision to have him put down when the oncologist confirmed that pancreatic cancer had eaten his pancreas, most of his liver, and had spread to his kidneys and large intestine. No sign of any thing wrong until that fateful night. I still think of him often, and it is esp. difficult this time of year as we had him put down on Veteran's Day. One never forgets the truly special pets. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 I know that was rough..my little girl pug is over 16...she is a sweetheat...her day is coming and I am in denial...she still play like a puppy but her sleeping time is lots more these days.. Quote
T120 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 ..Maybe hard for some to understand, but I believe that those that feel a close relationship, bond if you like, with a dog are people that I would probably like as a friend myself. We also had a German Shepherd dog.A truly bright, loyal dog and a good companion. After a long list of ailments and declining health,we made the decision to put her down.It certainly wasn't easy and it took us years to find another dog.We couldn't find a German Shepherd that we connected with and in the end found a rescue dog who although has questionable origins nevertheless has become part of our family.I'm truly sorry for your loss Quote
old rat 49 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 It's so hard to do. Gets better with time. Quote
