after seeing a number of these at car swap meets for prices I considered a bit over the top..I came across a unit of stainless steel, beautiful stamped non marred finish and average metal thickness...am very pleased with the item that arrived..I sent a couple folks here PM's about this..I do not think you will be unhappy with the product should you chose to order..was on e-bay..

Tim if you want to brand it take the plymouth ship off a p23 radio delete plate.

that would work...as it is going to be mounted on the 54...I have a freshly painted crest from a Belvedere that would spiff it up..I have the numbers 54 form a broken 454 emblem that I thought might look good on it also..painted to match the red insets of the rest of the trim on the car

no it is the mid line series Savoy, it never got the crest on the c-pillars but the same crest was used on the full dish hubcaps and also found on the optional wire spoke caps..I got lucky while back and snagged a set of the stainless wire hubcaps that also display the crest. My Savoy came from the factory with both optional appearance packages as best I can decipher from the list of options..lots of bling..

the wire baskets are bolted to the pressed steel cups that are attached to the wheel by means of 3 lug nuts..the cup is slotted with capture screws that allow you to loosen the cap and rotate them for perfect alignment to the rims valve stem.

the baskets hardware is usually so rusted it would be next to impossible to just loose them,..it was a bear to get mine apart to clean up...but if not with the caps..these are useless...AND..do be careful you have the right depth baskets..these were used multiple years and applications..not all baskets are the same..ask me how I know...lol

I bought one close to the one your showing a few years back. It has the red jewel on it. I think I paid $18.00 for it. Here's a pic.

Tim, thanks for the explanation about those baskets.

I didn't realize just how they worked and that there are

different configurations of them.

I once owned one cap---I think the basket was missing....

never tried to find more or use it.....finally sold it at a swap

meet. So my experience was pretty limited.
