I have a picture of nearly every car from my family on my desk, assuming I have a picture of it. Here's all of the old MoPars. All from my dad's dad's side. He had many more than these, but no pictures exists, sadly. So, I hope you all enjoy these ones!

1955 Plymouth Belvedere. The very first new car my grandparents bought new together:

My great-grandpa's 1955 Chrysler New Yorker. This car had a HEMI, A/C, and Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels:

This was my grandpa's brother's 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe; pictured is my grandpa's brother:

This is my grandpa's first car, a 1940 Plymouth sedan(taken in 1949). My grandparents went on their first date in this car, and this is also the car that made him want Annie so badly:

My great-grandpa's 1937 Chrysler Royal. My grandpa and his three brothers all learned to drive on this car. If my memory serves me correctly, I think he told me it had overdrive...:

My great grandpa's 1948 Chrysler Windsor. This is the car that Annie's tissue box holder came out of. That's my great-grandpa in the car. The back of this picture reads "Dad's pride and joy":

My great grandpa's 1928 Chrysler. Pictured is my grandpa(in the middle) and his two brothers:

Great pics! I guess it's safe to say your family is a Mopar family :D.

My great grandpa and grandpa were HUGE MoPar lovers. SOMEHOW or another, my dad came to be a Chevy guy. I like mostly everything. GM & MoPar(particularly Plymouth, of course ) are my favorites. Most Fords, I can take 'em or leave 'em. Only a handful that are very impressive to me.

I don't discriminate :D

Excellent pictures!!

Tom

Thanks!

I wish I had pictures of all my grandpas cars. My namesake never had a mopar but my other grandpa had a few. First one I know of was a brand new 39 business coupe that he bought not to haul stuff but because it only had 1 seat and he was sick of giving his sister-in-law rides. That carried him though wwII when he got a 46 or 47 dodge. Then in 51 he bought a few month old 51 dodge that someone at his work had. It had an annoying squeak in it so he got it cheap and had new shocks put on it to fix the issue. Then late 50s he had a 57 and 59 ford wagons to haul the kids. Then a 66 monaco. I think that was his last mopar. His buddy that sold cars moved to oldsmobiles so he started buying those instead.

Great pictures! And it's good that you know (and knew) the people in them. I see you are from Michigan. Are the pics from Detroit? Funny what runs through a guy's head- I was thinking if that was Detroit, what would that neighborhood look like now.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing. It makes us realize our cars were once new and everyday vehicles. That to me is one of the great pleasures of an old car, a sense of history and continuity.

Great photos, thanks for posting. Your timeline is somewhat different than mine. My G Grandfather was born in 1830 and died in 1871 so I dont have any car pictures as cars had not yet been invented. My Grandfatner was born in 1865 and died in 1925 and I dont know if he ever owned a car. My dad was born in 1902 and died in 1981. I do have a few pictures of cars he owned.

Very cool that you have this automotive photo history from your family. And thank you for sharing those with us.

I hope to get some time to go through all the many tons of photo's may family has amassed over the decades. Hope to find some pics of the cars owned by my early family.
