Power Steering

Anyone know of a way to add power steering to a '50 B2B without a whole front suspension replacement? Dale Graham, who is 80 years old and was asking on the chat last night. I think I understand why.

but a rebuilt steering box with the right lubricant can make a world of difference.

Here's a site with power steering conversion for PowerWagon trucks. It might be a lot easier to adapt their stuff to a Pilothouse....

Bob, is this guy in Colorado Springs? I have been in touch with an older gent down there about this. I am in the process of doing this on the 53' It's taking a little longer than the other projects, but I do have a handle on the parts needed, and already have most of them. Mine will be a little different due to the belt layout because I'm also putting on a McCulluch supercharger from 55'. Have him contact me directly, and I can list off what he's going to need to do/buy, and a close cost estimate.

i have seen a 55 C-3-B with factory installed power steering. The basic setup didn't change much hardware, it used a different steering box and a different drag link between the steering box and the driver's side tie rod end. Obviously it also included the PS pump and brackets would need to be fabricated.

I've started looking in parts books for the original part numbers and will post them if my research confirms the initial thinking.

I got power steering on my desoto...the power steering pump is piggy back behind the generator and it seems like it could work just fine on a b2b...just thought i will throw it out there...as a maybe.

once might would want to investigate the adaptation of the Chevy Cobalt intermediate steering chaft placement of electric power steering..of course we know this will require an upgrade to 12 volts so not sure how that will fly with the owner..

not sure if Jackson steering had anything to offer for this appliation...can't get to their site from here ...

Just don't get one out of the junkyard, you can't verify if it had been replaced with a proper recall unit..
