DLK Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 The old Plymouth must have handled the long drive without a hitch. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 Well early on it did develop a noise that kinda sounds like that thing on the top of a pressure cooker and I think my ancient possibly original exhaust system is developing a leak but nothing stopped us. Odometer shows us traveling just under 1500 miles in 9 days. Google says just the main trips we took to be about 1000 miles so the 1500 must be fairly close. However the rebuilt speedo reads 15mph high and has to come out and go back. Quote
greg g Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Hey Ed here are some folks from the past who apparently inspired you. Looks like they were headed to the Poconos for some Nookie. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Looks like you had a great trip Ed, but where are the pictures from the SPAM museum. You DID go to the SPAM museum for your honeymoon didn't you?!?! Quote
Young Ed Posted June 5, 2010 Author Report Posted June 5, 2010 Here is the truck in front of the spam museum in the fall of 08. So no need to go again. As for the honeymoon I found out today we were lucky! The coupe started making a noise that sorta sounds like the top of a pressure cooker. Well its the water pump. You can move the fan blade/hub a good 1/4 inch. A new one is on order. Getting shipped up here from Tim Adams neck of the woods. Quote

Well I'm sure glad you haven't ignored the SPAM museum! It was nice of your water pump to wait until you got back before it went out. I hope all goes well getting the new one in. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 6, 2010 Author Report Posted June 6, 2010 Thanks I certainly feel blessed it waited too. I started hearing the noise about day 2 of 9. New one is supposed to come in thurs-fri. Quote
pflaming Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I didn't realize the three of you were just recently 'dry behind the ears'!!! I wish each of you a good life, starting with an old car is definitely a step in the right direction. Thank you for the pictures. Good work! Quote
