Flatie46 Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Here Is a parts car I bought a while back for $200. The doors are ok and there was a good fender with it. The deck lid in the pic is for a bus coupe. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Are you posting that just to tease us? That turn signal part is quite rare. I've been looking for years! Quote
Flatie46 Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 Are you posting that just to tease us? That turn signal part is quite rare. I've been looking for years! Ed thats beginers luck, I didn't even know it was rare till someone posted a thread on rare parts. The car also had some rare stuff inside it. A decent model A dash and an old 2 stroke washing machine motor. Along with various stuff yet to be identifyed. This car was at an old junkyard where the owner had died and they were crushing out. If I hadn't stopped just outta the blue the day I did it'd be flat as a flitter. Quote
Tim Keith Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 The trunk lid doesn't look too bad. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Looks like possibly a good stainless quarter trim piece, maybe some good glass, a good wheel on R rear, trunk lid, gauges--some may be OK. Can't tell what else it has from that pic. Of course the hi beam/turn arrow item. Does that turn arrow deal have the 3 bulb holder behind it? Quote
Flatie46 Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 Here's a front shot showing the poly v8 someone had installed. Sorry don't know what size it is. Quote
Flatie46 Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 The 3 bulb holder.......... Yep, three bulb. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Any plans for the carb off that poly? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 that looks suspiciously like a D24 indicator as the P15 is canted at an angle..got a left or right side profile? Quote
Flatie46 Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 Here's anthor parts car I bought, I gave $100 and an old ford strait axel for it.[ I luv to trade car parts]. This car has a clock, the engine was stuck but I freed it up. When I pulled the head to check it out the cylnders they still had the crosshatch pattern in them. It was last tagged in '86 I'm thinkin' maybe it was rebuilt then and not run much after. The guy I traded with wanted the hood and fenders but I got to keep the very strait grill. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 That back bumper looks pretty decent from here. I see it has the famous "red head" engine. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 that looks suspiciously like a D24 indicator as the P15 is canted at an angle..got a left or right side profile? Tim, I think Bob just posted that picture as an example of the assembly behind the dash even though it is for a Dodge. I don't think that is the turn signal piece that is in question. Frank M. Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Bob T. That deck also works on a convert. It would be worth it just to be around . Hope you never need it---but good insurance! Frank M. Quote
Flatie46 Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 Don't know if you can tell or not but there is no "P" on the head in the engine pic. I don't know the history of the car though, may have been changed at some point. Bob, the back bumper is headed for my coupe. I'm soaking the nuts[ hee hee] in aerokroil now. Frank, the deck lid has a hole but it is fixable. My coupe deck lid has some issues I'm not sure which I'll use. Being that my car will be a daily driver [ thats what I'm shooten for] I'd like to have plenty of extras on hand. My ultimata goal is to have anything I might need, brakes, drums, genorator or whatever on hand so that I can drive the car daily. If something goes bad or fails I have it and the car is back in the rat race. I get tired of looking at these econo boxes at the red lights everyday. I'm gonna put my Plymouth back to the day to day grind. Cars will deteriorate if you don't drive em and will wear if you do. I'd rather see mine wear. Young Ed, sent you a PM. Quote

Thanks, Frank. I know it does.......wouldn't mind to have a spare, but it's one of those things that takes some storage space. Am thinking...... Quote

I don't think that is the turn signal piece that is in question. Jim Yergin Jim.....that's the only picture I've seen of how the 3 bulbs are mounted if you have the arrows on the hi beam indicator. Someone posted it quite a while back. If that's for a Dodge, then what does one look like for a Plymouth?? Quote
Jim Yergin Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Bob, I have never seen a set-up for the Plymouth. I assume the Dodge bulb holder is the same. That is what I am using in my Plymouth with the Dodge turn signal piece that I modified to fit my Plymouth. Jim Yergin Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 OK......so I guess my next question is - was that turn signal arrow/high beam part ever actually installed on Plymouths, or just on Dodges, then later transplanted to a Plymouth? Or, Would the item he has be used if the Plymouth came equipped with the factory turn signals? I've also wondered if a person could invent their own indicator light by simply drilling a couple holes in a hi beam bezel, then making an item to hold the bulbs behind it. Wouldn't be as neat as with the arrows, but would serve the same purpose. With my current turn signal, I added a pair of red lights below the dash as reminders to turn off the flasher since it's manual with no automatic shutoff. Even with that, I sometimes forget and drive for a while with the blinker going. Quote
