48Dodger Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 As y'all know, I love Pilot-House trucks. But I need some help with the 1938 Dodge 1.5 ton "Fore- Point" I bought. I'm doing enough to the truck to save it from the rust and the crusher. What I need is any pictures of the hood ordament, radiator cap, and head light assembly. Its missing those things and would really make it a nicer ride to look at if I can locate those parts. Trouble is I can't seem to find any pictures online. I'm picking up the truck in a few minutes and will post pictures of it to help my stituation. Thanks in advance to all who try to help. http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/history/segment4.html 48D craiglist picture Quote

Reg Evans Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Tim, Have a look at this forums photos. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1928-38Dodgetrucks/photos/album/607352175/pic/667137049/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc Quote
48Dodger Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 It's here...!!!! The headlights hook up to the fenders, not the grille like the 1/2 ton's. And I'm not sure if its a 1.5 or 2 ton.....no tag. The wheelbase is @ 180-83". Hoping a Hood Ordament shows up for this model truck...no holes for it, unless the radiator cap played into it somehow. 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Some of the 39-47s Ive seen have special lower mounted CA headlights. Apparently CA had some weird rule about headlight height. I wonder if thats why you have fender mounted headlights instead of grill ones. Quote
48Dodger Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 Thanks 41/53D...... Hey Ed, I joined the 28-39 yahoo club (thx Reg) and found this picture of the headlight set-up. So if any of yous 48/53 Pilotheads have a set laying around....pm me please! lol 48D Quote
townwagon Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 First of all the VIN tag on a 1938 is on the firewall, not the door jamb. Second, all the 1 1/2 ton and larger 1938 trucks got the headlights on the fenders. Third, neat toy! Eric Quote
