Years ago I came across a big 2 to 3 ton Dodge truck with the flathead in it and a factory two carb setup. I thought at the time (20 years ago) that the dual carbs would look good on my '48 D25 but that was as far as I got. Sure wish I had managed to get hold of it. It had duals on the rear end too.

That era had nice style to it. I just picked up a 46 1 ton (wd21) 9' bed. I would think the 2.5 ton would be geared low does it have the 2 speed rear I think it was a option back then

Tim the 2.5 and 3 tons have quite a unique look. They retain the same general styling as my 46 pickup but the nose is flattened out. Its pretty much a big square. These are pretty rare and I'd guess you are more likely looking at a 1.5 or 2 ton unit.

Here's a pic of a 1 1/2 ton Dodge dually I sold for my buddies brother when he passed away in 2002. His brother had planned to make a car hauler out of it. Just behind it was a cabin off a semi he planned to fit behind the cab. It had the big block 6 with the Spitfire head. The floor did come out like Ed's truck does.

Ed thats yet another possibilty for Tim to find- a COE. All these trucks have the same cab with the removable floor. Its the other stuff that gets bigger.

Our local PickNPull had a 50 Fargo 3 ton with a 16 foot grain box and hoist. It was original straight off the farm. Paint was lousy and the interior was shot, but no rust and no dents at all. Single carb manifold and 20 inch wheels. It was huge!! Only $750. I just didn't have anywhere to put it. Sad to let that one go.

At least they sold it whole rather than putting it out in the yard for the vultures
