after looking at pictures, and seeing thecars in person, i think the plymouth cars wer e better looking than the chryslers and desoto's of the time.

the cheapest was the best looking thisw is ironic tio me. one thing i like is the interior of the chrysler, the nicemetal knobs vs the bakelight plymouths ones, and the interior was more upscale. The lines of the plymouth are so much nicer, in my humblest opinion. what do you think ?

Hey Michael, why don't you really tell us, what you think?

I agree the P 15s are sharp looking cars, and maybe better looking than a Chrysler or Desoto, I am very partial too them myself. I have a C38 Chrysler Coupe, and I am very partial to it too.

Now the Desoto in my opinion, "like your's Michael", unique to me, but not everyone else, the Desoto grille in my idea, is absolutely fantastic.

Now the lines are similar on all 4 cars PDDC, the P15 is the most compact, the quitsee younger sibbling so to speak.

All of the Mopar lines have there pluses and minuses, strong and weak point with respect to style and build.

Hey Michahel have you ever had the priviledge to see a 46 to 48 Chrysler T & C Ragtop or sedan up close and personal, or a minty 46 to 48 Chrysler Biz Coupe, those machines are absolutely stunning.

Now maybe not according to you Michael, as your opinion is different then mine.

Sometimes I think it's best we keep our opinions to ourselves, especially in writing, sometimes has the effect we did not mean to produce.

But there again, maybe you just like to have your opinion, and to be recognzed, as you made evident in another thread yesterday..LOL

Let me ask a possibly silly question.....but I have never seen that

script saying "Timberline". What does that mean? Of course, I'm not

very familiar with Town and Country's.

Bob,

The script nameplate says "Timberliner". A rare find nameplate for a Chrysler T&C woodie.

Isn't it like choosing between a Schnauzer and an Airedale?? Or picking the prettiest bulldog puppy?

I agree with Greg! they are different styles and both are good, I dont think one is 100% better than the other ones. they are what they are. is not even ironic, is anyone's point of view. some of us have our opinion slightly misadjusted because we own that car! that is an actual proof we like that style better....:)

It seems as if each different model produced by Chrysler Corp has

certain things that are good and maybe some not so great.

The Plymouth has a lot of styling I happen to like - so that's what

I own.

OK....was the 'Timberliner" nameplate a Chrysler Corp issued item,

or someone's aftermarket invention?

Found it at the Turlock Ca. swap meet 20 years ago and have never found out what it was used on- so now it has a proper good home.

It does look right at home where you placed it.:)

Beauty is in the eye of the titleholder.

I'll be the first to say that my car, a '50 Plymouth four door, is the homeliest red-headed stepchild of 50's automotive design ever conceived. The proportions are awkward, the divider between the doors is ugly, the roofline is too flat in the middle, the front doors are too short, etc.

And all of this is exactly why I love it. It was the "everyman's" car, and every time I park the car, I hear another great story.

What I do think is better about the Plymouth line in terms of design, is that it was kept fairly simple. And this to me is better than the upscale lines that were heavily laiden with bulky bumpers, huge overriders, and such.

Pete, as you know, I've got the model immediately before yours and I never cease to be disappointed when I look at a completed version. I love the front but the rest of it is homely. Looks like a Russian taxicab. But it's the one I've got. And I got it for free.

Hey you Guys, I rather like the Shoebox look of the 49 to 52 Plyms, very cool cars, would not mind finding a beater car in these years to drive all year round, even here in winter, minus the salty/slushy days.

To be honest, back in 87, when I first bought my C38 Chrysler, I did not care for the look of the front end, grille, etc, it grows on a person, I love the look now. Funny how we change as time marches on, hope for some yet......LOL

Pete, only way I'd be driving this thing to Portland is if I started eating speed right now and kept taking it till I was done with the car. I'd get thrown out of the house, out of the neighborhood, out of my job. It's a big honkin' old thing. At least it won't look like anything else out there on the road. This reminds me that we ought to start a compilation of stupid things people have said when they've seen you guys out driving your old cars. There have got to be some winners.
