48Dodger Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I guess this is a gonna be a Holiday Tradition for me....for the third year in a row I've picked up a Dodge 1.5 ton. This Red Dodge was sitting on the side of the road next to a GMC 1.5 ton. Both were for sale and took 2 weeks of calling before the guy called me back. he said he had a bunch of calls on the GMC, but I was the first for the Dodge. We strucka deal and the rig is mine. Personally, I hope this happens for a few more years. lol 48D THE NEW RIDE-2009 2007 2008 Quote
Young Ed Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I like it. Have you signed these trucks into the 39-47 truck registry? Hey the new one has both its doors too. Quote
48Dodger Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) lol. I bought a door from Reg for the Yellow 47....I should post an updated picture. The Red 47 is a "ran when I parked it"..."just needs a battery". Can't wait to see what it really is, kinda hopin' it runs. The Yellow is registered, per your help Ed. I'll do the same with the "new" one. 48D Edited December 16, 2009 by 48dodger Quote
Young Ed Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I think along with "new" you should refer to it as "red" unless you are counting surface rust as red too Now you need to find a parts truck one of these and send me some nice CA rust free stuff. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 48Dodger,I bought this GMC CCKW 353 6x6 2 1/2 ton 1944 in 2005.Now in next january,25 2010 I will try the process of petition to get a title for it.The great problem is have a big:eek: garage in the city to a 2 1/2 ton truck. Its garage is in my father in law farm. 48Dodger Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) for the man who has everything.....(uh huh). Tim, whatcha gonna do with all these toys? I don't know Bud...look at 'em?.....I love the "old" look...lol. I just hate seeing these trucks go unappreciated behind a barn, just rottin' away. Tim you're always coming up with new things to see at your BBQ. I'm glad you have a place big enough to hold all this. Yea...haven't run out of room yet..lol. I plan on throwing some boards on it and putting it near the Bbq as a BIG Bbq table. I think along with "new" you should refer to it as "red" unless you are counting surface rust as red too Now you need to find a parts truck one of these and send me some nice CA rust free stuff. Can't name him Red....that's the dog's name...lol. I'll work on it... 48D Edited December 16, 2009 by 48dodger Quote

Don Coatney Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Tim; You must be approaching the legal limit on the number of old Mopars you can own. Enough is enough! If you dont ship your Charger race car to me I will have to report you to the Mopar cops:eek: Quote
48Dodger Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 There's a limit???? Dang....someone tell Reg! He's my idol...I don't want anything to happen to him. Thanks for the heads up Don. Your #200 on the list of people who want my racecar when I kick it....I'll keep you posted. lol 48D Quote
48Dodger Posted March 3, 2010 Author Report Posted March 3, 2010 Ok.....bit of a change! To make a long story short...the Red 47' went to another guy who may be at the BBQ this year. I believe that will be his first classic Dodge Truck. I came across a Craiglist add for a 48 Dodge Truck and checked it out. Turned out to be a 1938 1.5 truck. Sooooooo.......I brought THAT one home. lol. It's got a "ton and half" of rust, but the boy is an awesome looking ride. I plan on pulling both the 47 and 38 up the BBQ area and throw some boards on them for tables. Should look pretty cool. 48-53 Trucks are "the show"...but always room for the cousins, right? lol:D 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Wow thats way cool. Did you get the headlights for it? Or the way cool leaping ram hood ornament? Quote
48Dodger Posted March 3, 2010 Author Report Posted March 3, 2010 Nahhh.....I was looking under the seat for any of the stuff, but no luck. The engine and running gear are complete. I plan on sanding it down and killing the rust, then putting some color on it to keep what steel it has left, alive and kickin'. 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Ive got a couple leaping rams but I think they are all 39-40 versions. Too bad yours is missing. The styling in those is great. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 There's a limit???? Dang....someone tell Reg! He's my idol...I don't want anything to happen to him. Thanks for the heads up Don. Your #200 on the list of people who want my racecar when I kick it....I'll keep you posted. lol48D Oh no Tim ! You got it bad man. I only meant to give you a little touch of my old truck obsession virus but I guess I gave you most of mine. I did notice right after I shook your hand for the first time that my collection began to shrink and has now gotten down to where I think you have me beat. So so sorry Grasshopper Cool 38 though. Now.....find one of these to save $ on future towing bills. Quote
