Even though I've never ordered anything from Eastwood, I use to get catalogs all the time from them on a regular basis. Then a few years ago, the catalogs stopped coming. But...........times must be tough because I got one today. Guess they are trying to drum up business from new people.

I ordered something from them earlier this summer. I seem to get an email almost daily now with some special trying to get you to order. I think they are offering free shipping the rest of the year also.

Ed, they have the free shipping on any order on this catalog too. No minimum order. I don't get any emails from them or any other place advertising specials. Guess that's because I don't order stuff online, and when I order on the phone from someone I tell them I don't have email when they ask for it.;)

The catalog says the free shipping offer is good until 11/30/09. So........that may be the same with online ordering.

Don,

I've never ordered from them because I can usually buy the stuff I want locally, or much cheaper somewhere else. For example: I have an arc welder. Right after buying the arc welder I bought a stitch welder and spot welder attachment for it from JC Whitney. They have the same thing in the Eastwood Catalog, but........it's about twice the price. They also have a bead roller kit like I bought from Harbor Freight. But........again, that's about twice the price in the Eastwood catalog compared to what I paid.

Actually, they started out as an individual company. Then sometime in the late 90's Sears bought them out. I still got their catalogs after that. But.........now that I think about it, when K-Mart bought Sears, that's about the time the catalogs stopped coming. Wonder if they are still part of Sears/K-Mart, or if they are stand alone again.

I get their catalogs all the time, and also the emails. I like their Chassis Black and Rust Encapsulator paints. Used them on my front end suspension. In fact I'm putting the Gloss Black on tomorrow so I can put the thing back together.

Yeah, I've thought the same thing that they must be hurting a little to offer so many discounts and free shipping.

Don..I got to agree with Norm..I have seen nothing in the Eastwood catalog that I would consider a bargin but if I had to chosse between them and Griotts (sp) I think the Eastwood prices would then be in line.

I have not had a catalog from them in years and miss then not the least...I honestly feel that I got on a few catalog lists through my collectors car insurance..seems that is when so many all of a sudden popped up....someone sent me a subscription to Field and Stream..anyone want a years worth unopened magazines...actually I finially got tired of them laying about and chunked them..I am so fed up with magazines..anyone look at the National Geographics these days...80% is all advertisements..the article are not as in depth...was thumbing through one when carried the wife to the doctors office..what a waste of money in my book (magazine, not wife's health)

That's funny Tim, out of nowhere I started receiving Field and Stream, for free. Got a renewal notice last week, but I can't see renewing a mag that I read cover-to-cover in about 5 minutes, then toss.

I subscribe to a couple car mags and I enjoy them. For my money, this year I'll be dropping Popular Hot Rodding (read Camaro-Mustang-Chevelle-crate motor magazine) and subscribing to Hot Rod Deluxe.

I used some eastwood rust encapsulator on the iron frame of my ancient teardrop and the stuff seems to be a great product. Pricey though.
