Don Coatney Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Fred' date='Glad you had a good time, not to worry, you did fine without your glasses:)[/quote'] His typing looks blurry to me. But yours does too. Guess I need to find my glasses. At work yesterday I was doing diagnostic testing on a newly upgraded machine. To do this I use a puter program that allows me to toggle most every function on this machine. One of the toggle functions was to power up and blink a blue light. There is no blue light on this machine so I asked one of the local home based guys what this missing blue light was???? As I am on the upgrade team the locals consider us the "pros from Dover" if you recall that line from the original "MASH" movie. He went into a long-winded answer that this light was to alert the hearing impaired in the area that the machine was about to cycle. And as there no hearing inpared working in the area the light had been removed several years ago. After he completed this long-winded answer I said "What"? He then repeated this long-winded answer completely at which time I said once again "What"? He then began repeating the answer again but he saw me laughing hysterically along with two other guys in the area and he finally caught on and started laughing which made all of us laugh even harder. They call this work but at times it is more fun than it is work. Quote
55 Fargo Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 So, there ya see, Fred.......wasn't painful at all, was it?Glad you had a nice time. Look forward to some pics later. Had a great time Bob, sorry no camera with me. I saw a lots of very nice 60s and 70s Mopar Muscle cars. But 1 of the coolest wasa 60s Dodge Van/pickup, Hemi Powered, and Black Cherry Paint job to die for, very cool machine. My Car ran well, it is very warm here today mid 80s, a super strong south wind, maybe all the way from Missouri. I find my car does run about 10 degrees warmer, while travelling on hot days going with the wind, as oppsoed to going against the wind, engine temp was 170 to 180 , for the 70 mile round trip....Fred Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 It may have been some Missouri weather Fred. Actually real nice here today......got up to about 80 around noon, early afternoon. While you were out doing the show, I went over to Kansas to resume working on the P15 coupe body from which we gonna liberate the roof. Today's task was drilling out the spot welds holding cowl area to top of the firewall. Used a 3/8 bit and used cutting oil, per instructions from my son-in-law. Next, I'll try the new H F angle grinder on un-doing some welds on the bottom edge of the cowl. Gotta go buy some cutting wheels. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Bob, while at Harbor Freight, do investigate the actual spot weld cutter on sale there...normal drill bits are not worth a tinkers' when it come to drilling spot welds, a machinist start bit will be of use to you in the absence of the spot weld cutter..however for with the cutter..you should have no problem..secret to the cutter use is to keep the cutter face swuare to the spot being cut..this will assure that the cutter does not catch at an agle and break..they are a bit fragile but a marvel at cutting welds.. Joe Flanagan Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I loved the one I had. It worked like magic. Until I held it at an angle and it caught the metal and broke. Quote
Captain Neon Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I used to feel embarrassed to take my P15 to shows, but quickly realised that mine was usu. the only '40s car to show up. I simply weary of going to local shows where I can look at every one else's cars in 30 minutes and then end up spending the rest of the day watching people and answering the occassional question. I just don't have time for that right now. Despite my best of intentions, my lawn still didn't get mowed this weekend. My daytime waking hours were spent under cars all weekend. It's hard to imagine that winter will be here soon. Changed antifreeze in cars while also tinkering with the electrics and changing shocks on the P15. The P15 is the only one left needing the antifreeze changed. Quote

Yah Greg, there were a lot of Mopar 60's 70's Muscle, Cudas, Swingers, Dusters, Challengers you name it. Some 30s Mopar Hot rods etc, very few Trucks, a very cool 62 Sport Fury with Lighting Bolts painted on it. Next time will be loaded with a camera...... Quote

55 Fargo Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) No pics???? this thread is worthless I reacted a bit quick on this post, has been sorted out, sometimes this is how fights start on these forums, misunderstandings, especially with written communication. Then please by-pass by all means, nobody is forcing you to read this thread or to put out your negative comment either, have I ever come to some of your threads with a put-down. Fireball Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I only tried to be funny, no need for put-down or anything. Don't be so vulnerable my intention was not to be rude, if I hurt your feelings then I'm sorry, really sorry. And yes, I'd still love to see pics of that event Quote

Will see what pics I may be able to get from others at the event, I could not bring a camera myself, or there would have been pics. The Manitoba Mopar Association Website may have pics, so might the Plymouth Bulletin in some future issue, but not sure on that one.....Fred Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 No pics???? this thread is worthless Fred, that's one of their favorite sayings on the H A M B........when someone starts talking about a car but has no pictures posted so they can see it. Often some humorous graphics to go with the jibe. Sometimes it even takes 3 cups of coffee.......... Quote

Was not a pleasant day, went to see Brother-in-law in Hospital, he is inthe advanced stages of Cancer, he is 57, and going down hill fast, hard to see this with family. I also gota real shock when I went into work last night. One of our Correctional Officers was killed ina car accident, he was 32 leaves behind his Wife, 2 Girls 1 and 3, the ironic thing is this, he was returning home from a Memorial Golf Tournament for another Officer of ours who was killed in a Motorcycle accident a couple of years ago, what a darn shame, and the 2 little Girls will never know there Dad........
