Picked this up today from a farm north of here. Been sitting outside for 30 yrs. Seems complete except for the irons.

Anyone have one of these with maybe a pic of what the irons look like??

The one I am familiar with, changed about 1000 sets of snow tires on one of those while workig during high school. Had a bout a 5 foot bar with a round notched deal on one end, for removing the tire, and a double hooked affair on te other for putting the tire on. One end slipped over the rim, and the other side grabbed the bead and fed it over the rim of the wheel. There were a couple 18 or 24 inch flat irons with rounded ends but they didn't get used much.

Man oh Man, that makes my mouth water. I have been looking for one of those for about 6 months now. I spent alot of time on one of those when I was a young lad. be sure and put some RED paint on it. Maurice

Thanks Tim. I got lucky and the seller found the top bead breaker and I picked it up today so that just leaves the mount/dismount bar.

I think they are still being made, maybe not as good as the original but better than nothing.

I'm going to sandblast the machine on Friday and repaint it red.

There is a slot at the top of the main post, what's that for???

I doubt you'll like the price, but here's a link to a local (to me, at least) outfit that continues to make this type of tire changer.

Pat..the slot..I tell you what I use it for on mine...the later model wheels are positive offset..this required me to weld about 5 new threads on the center post so I can lock the wheel in place...I also have to use an extender for the lug hole locking pin...the higher position of the offset wheels on teh pedestal make using the top breaker a bit sloppy but inserting a wedge in the slot will lock the breaker in place and keep it from riding up..once again use this thing compatable with modern wheels..I alos have the factory adapter for mounting and dismounting Crager type wheels to protect the entended hub for center ring mounting..this kit has the wheel ring clamp so to protect edges from the mount/dismount bar..my friend found this at an auction for a dollar brand new in the box..he just gave it to me..the extender for the lug hole was part of this kit..
