radioguy7
I just like old cars. Period. All of 'em. Amen Pat!! My wife says I have old car disease!! Just look at our yard I used to be a GM purist until I saw the light one day, it started with an old Dodge Power wagon, then all heck broke loose!! gnoub1948
PatS --- I concur! My desire list seems to traverse over all American cars! Let's see.......hmmmm.... a '34 Chrysler Airflow next to a '54 Cad next to a '57 T-Bird next to a '55 Chrysler next to a '65 Riviera next to a '50 Buick next to Model A next to a '62 Vette next to a '36 Plymouth, and on an on. Yep, it's a disease. And then, there are all manner of cool Resto Mod's and even kit cars like a Factory Five Daytona Coupe. Sorry guys, there's more to life than just MOPARS. But then that's only my opinion. Gary
dezeldoc
I guess we need to be like the p/u side and just say good bye get out! Norm, funny you should mention that, when i was collecting bicycles the restored ones used to bring the big bucks, then the guys got smart and relized they were only original once, so the nice originals started going through the roof and it made getting rid of a restored one almost impossable, their value went into the toilet. oldmopar
I have been on this forum since I guess the mid 90's and the premise always was that while we talk mostly mopar we do what we like to our cars and that is what makes this forum what it is. A great place where all are welcome but this is not the POC forum which I also visit but as a visitor I respect their philosophy and members here should do the same. While I do keep my vehicles basically stock and correct with parts sometimes you have to do what works and costs less. So I am in the process of installing a mopar part, a bumper from a 52 Plymouth on a gmc truck I am working on Ed
dezeldoc
Ed, anytime you put a Mopar part on a chevy or ford you just increased the value and reliabilty!
blueskies
That's it, I'm gone. Seen 3 or 4 more posts about putting gm stuff in Mopars. No need of it. Don't like it. Won't listen to it. Gone. Probably won't be missed. Don't care. Gone. Damn... if that's all you've got to worry about, life must be rough. Like it or not, this forum grew, in part, out of all the folks cast out by the POC and their "if it ain't stock, f-off" attitude. I for one am very happy that there is a healthy variety of users here with tolerant mindsets. And hope that it stays that way. Pete

later
While there is nothing wrong with being a purist, you have to remember that those of us that chose a different path make original parts more available.

It`s always the purist that gets upset, I have never been sworn at or completely dragged over the coals by a steetrodder, but I have by the purist----------it`s just a car, life is to short to bicker over this. When you go to a show do you get out of your car and start talking to it?? NO--you visit with friends who like to work on them....nuff said.....Lee

Pete Hey Pete, when greg, Don, chet and Jim came to the Sully show we had at least two cars that where original, chet's car and mine. They used AACA rules and we did not win anything. This year I took the hawk, with that cool paint color and the wood syteering wheel and it won. I don't know how to figure it. I think Chet's car was as original as they come. wayfarer
Let's see...obama motors uses an Isuzu engine in the trucks, Phord uses an old cornbinder engine and Dodge is still offering a Cummins. Sound like cross-dressing starts at home. I think if we all had our way then all old Mopes would have a Hemi under the hood... Frank Elder
Old Woolie, You are being crucified man...stand up and defend yourself. There is nothing wrong with your mindset it is just a minority here. I once pm'ed GTK to remove me from the roster and revoke my membership because I was frustrated with certain individuals and thought no way I could stay here, glad I was wrong. You do not have to read or answer every post...it's just a car, I will miss you if that is your decision. Act not in haste or everything else will be a waste. 55 Fargo
Old Woolie, no one is on here as a regular by mistake, just take what you enjoy and can use and leave the rest. This is a great forum, but you know what is better than any of the cars, flatties, paint jobs, tires or whatever else someone has done to, or has on there car. It is this my Friend, it's the fantastic group of people that make up this forum. You being a Canuck, and me being a Canuck, makes me disappointed you are exiting, sure you'll be missed, but you will Miss this forum big time, once you see how a lot of other old car forums operate. And you know what this place is friendly, lively, infomative and good natured. I have found a lot of the other forums, Boring, uninviting, and just not like theis Old Mopar family is right here. Hope you joy us again sometime................Fred Edited July 11, 2009 by Rockwood spelling
