JIPJOBXX Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 This weekend I went to our local auto paint store (Westbay) Kitsap county and was just going to buy a small pint or so of paint to repair a few chips on my Dodge. I had the original paint and numbers so that they could make me up a fresh batch. While there the counter person told me that they had the capabilities to make up puff cans that would match my car finish. Well the price was right only 20 dollars and they did what they said what they could do and the paint really does match up great with my old finish. I knew that this technology was out there as I tried to get some oft line but they wanted to much mo-la. So for 20 dollars a can I got more than I wanted and I'm one happy camper. Jon Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 I've been getting those matching color spray cans at one of our local O'Reilly Automotive parts stores......they happen to have a separate paint dept. Cost about $17 plus sales tax. They've always matched perfectly.....until the last two. The color was just a little off. When I spoke to them about it, the man said they had used a different brand of paint. I had used one can and noticed the color difference when it dried. They said I can return the second one and they will use the original brand of paint for a replacement at no cost. Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Is a "puff" can the same thing as a rattle can? I never heard that experession? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 How about a "spray can" or "aerosol can"????????? Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 How about a "spray can" or "aerosol can"????????? I still do not know what a "puff" can is. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 You mean "huffing?" Inhaling aerosol fumes? See thread on Edgar Allan Poe. Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Is a "puff" can the same thing as a rattle can? I never heard that experession? They puff up real quick like if you throw one in your camp fire. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) I just demonstated to a co-worker that I have a can of spray paint that will spray any color you wish..he disagreed and of course I had to demostrate the technique... Edited May 20, 2017 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 You puff on it. I puff on my pipe:rolleyes: I still dont know what a puff can is. My mother used to use a powder puff and she kept the powder in a can. Could that then be a puff can? Quote
dezeldoc Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 The only thing i know about a "puff" was a song in the 60's, Puff the magic dragon, or a powder puff. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Ok here's the meaning when a women goes puff its the same term as a man passing a fart!!! Now you've heard the rest of the story!!!! Geese Ami the only one here that uses that phrase for a can of spray paint. Guess I picked that expression up in the good old ship yard where I once put my time in. Quote
dirty dan Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 I hope that's not a pipe like I found in one of our salesman's company car one time back in the 70's. The little flat kind. I'm sure it wasn't his. Quote

JIPJOBXX Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Well your never to old to learn as they say. Never have bought a can of fart spray but I think I know the smell probably like a porta pottie that has been used on a three day weekend in the middle of summer. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 I got a can of fart spray at a joke shop and took it into a bar during football playoffs when the place was crowded. I was with a buddy. I discreetly shot the stuff off a couple of times. One of the best times I ever had in my life. The stuff is basically hydrogen sulfide. The manager came out and he was pouring Drano down the drains under the beer taps. They opened the kitchen doors real wide and I could see the people back there clearing out all the cabinets. They had to open the front door and prop it open. All this time, there was this one guy sitting all by himself at the bar not saying a word. Finally, he looks right at me and my friend and said, "It smells just like hydrogen sulfide." Then he just turned right back around and kept watching the game. I said to my friend, "I think we better get out of here." My father was a cop. We used to shoot the stuff off in the house and he'd go ballistic. It used to crack us up. I guess it makes sense that women would call a fart a "puff." I can't exactly imagine one of them saying, "Hey Doris. I just ripped one off in the ladies' room and it set off the smoke alarm." Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Joe; Great stories! One of my old Jewish girlfriends called a ladies version a "fluff" not a puff. She also did not sweat but she would "glisen" Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 A FLUFF??? I think that's too kind. My parents used to call it a "rouser." I take it you and your girlfriend had occasion to discuss this at some point. "So--Your farts are fluffs and my fluffs are farts, huh? I'm taking you home." Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 hey Don.."she permeated the air to a resonate degree" as in she cut one.. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Where are we going? And what's with this hand basket? Quote
billwillard Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Is this a puff bottle? I have used this for years and works great. Quote
