Okay for front of car to be elevated on jack stands?

So I realized I'm going to need to put a couple coats of paint on the break backing plates. Figure while I'm at it I'll paint a few other things and make it a day project. Would I be doing any frame damage or making any common sense violations by putting jack stands under both the front L&R so I can at least prep the stuff and leave the wheels off four about five days?

once seated firmly and evenly on a set of jack stands the car will sit indefinitely..I had my body off the car and on a set of 6 x 6's suspended on jack stands for a few days..catch the frame just behind the front wheels and the tip up of the frame..

Riight.....just make sure it's steady and stable. If you have a floor jack, you can even

use it as a third jack stand.......somewhere out of your way, but in a position to hold

something up if necessary. You can just put it up against the frame or wherever

snugly, without actually having weight on it.

Put it properly on stands and come back in ten years and the car will be perfectly fine except for the usual that happens when a car sits like brakes and fuel system. Frame will be just as you left it.

not only that but the suspension should be better because it wasnt supporting weight for those years

make sure you have good jack stands and not those cheep ones that will fold up on you. Do this on concrete or some other hard surface as they will sink in ground and tip over when you don't expect it. Life is only good if we work to keep it that way.

If you do not have concrete to place the jack stands on you can buy the 16" X16" X 4" concrete pads from Home Depot or other building supplier and set the jack stands on them. I have had jack stands sink into the asphalt on a hot Texas summer day.
