claybill Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 i noticed that my rears were 215x75 and the fronts were 225x75. i also noticed that one was develping a split and a tear along a 'seam'. i hate to buy a new set of 4...$$$$$$ ka-ching! how bad is the mismatched sizes? is Coker the best? (using 4 cokers now) diamond backs are whites glued on blackwall tires..? dont know about that. any other good source for wide whites? claybill.! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Bill, I don't think it matters if you just replace one or two new tires on the car, as long as the fronts are even. Reason I say that is. What happens if you go to a tire store and have a tire replaced under a road hazard warranty? I've never had them tell me that I had to replace both tires. They just replace the one and sent me on my way. And, I really didn't have any problems with a car pulling to one side after that. Quote
glendale Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I am aware that alot of you guys are not that into the hamb. i became an alliance member for the discounts though and when i ordered my cokers i saved a hundred bucks. they have a ton of vendors that are involved and it's 50 bucks to join. p.s. my tires are 6.50 firestones so i'm no help on that. Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 usually as long as the tires match on each axle the two axles can be different...however I would put the larger on the rear.. all match if 4 wheel drive.... Quote

Furylee2 Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Check out JEG's. They sell Coker tires at a discount, and free shipping. I just bought a set of 8.00X14 BFG Silvertown's for my 58. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Bill, If you go to a Firestone store, they can order www if they don't have them in stock. They aren't quite as wide as Cokers, but almost. Don't know the cost. But........if you go there, it's no shipping and they can mount and balance them for you at the same time. Quote
P15Mike Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Guy's , Funny this should come up .Im going to put Bias tires on my p-15 . I went to the local firestone/goodyear and they both refered me to COKER !! .I was told they dont have access to those orders for bias tires ?? Makes me wonder if those guys sold the rights for their name to be put on the bias tires to Coker ? I now have already come to grips that im going to have to go through Coker ... i guess till i saw the above post about Jegs ...I'll check their site to see if there's enough of a savings ..thx for the tip ! Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 it is my understanding that coker does have this market sewed up by license from the original folks... Quote
