Suggestions for painting

I need some ideas of how to paint the embossed letters on my rear bumper. I have hand painted these letters"Fluid Drive" but have never been pleased with the results. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could always have someone make you vinyl decals for the bumper. Not sure how you would get a pattern to be made, but that would be the easiest solution I would think.

..a method I have used was to initially remove all the old paint, then apply the colour using touch-up paint using a small bristle brush-when the paint is dry to the touch,I've used a cloth damp with varsol (not soaking wet) to wipe the edges of the embossing to remove any excess paint and give better definition to the edges of the embossing. You may have tried this already,

anyhow it worked for me and I was pleased with the result.

there is a tool you can get ar body shop supply stores. It looks like apen, but it contains strands of fiberglass. You rough up the area of the chromed bumper you want the paint to adhere to. BIG WARNING when using this small shards of friberglass break off and can get on your fingers. If you get them in your eyes ears or nose it will not feel good. Wear gloves, dispose of them, vacuum the work area then wash your hands. Then use a testors paint pen to fill in the area you wish painted. You can clean up the edges as mentioned above or let it dry then carefully remove any unwanted paint with a razor blade.
