For most of you that is no big deal. But I was driving down the road and the amp gauge was amping, the temp gauge was temping, the fuel gauge was fueling, and the oil gauge was oiling. The speedo was speeding and the car was purring like a kitten. Okay like a kitten trapped in a tin box vigorously shaken but purring none the less. :D

I went to the bank, auto parts store, picked up some polished stainless. I don't know why but it makes me smile. Roaring down the freeway at a breathtaking 50 mph while those around me were doing 80. It's just relaxing. And when everything runs well - of course I'm preaching to the choir but it was such a pleasant day and the car ran so well.

I found that it takes me back to a more pleasant time.

Welcome to old car heaven Don. Nothing is better after a bad day at work to hit the highway in my old car. Makes everything better.

Got any pics of that interior yet? Anxious to see how well it turned out.

Sounds like you had a good day.

That said, I've never had my coupe on the freeway and probably won't. I know the minimum speed limit is 45, so going 50 MPH is legal. But........I just don't think it's safe to be going 50 MPH when everyone else is trying to go between 60 & 80 MPH. I'd feel like I'm a hazard to traffic. So.........I stay off the freeway with the coupe and just take the side roads.

My last employed day in Colorado was easier to take since I drove my P15 that day. Which reminds me of an old saying, "No good deed goes unpunished." Something I intend to pass on if I ever get the chance.

Good to hear everything is working.

Had a short drive with the P15 myself as I expect that I will not drive very soon as I want to get things done (so the interior is out).

Besides the enjoyable drive I got some thumbs up and people smiling (and I believe it is about the car!).

Count me in.

Took the 41 out today, went and got some fresh gas, stopped by the parts store for some wiper blades for the PT, and just cruised around enjoying the 60 degree weather. Lee

It was nice out here too. Dad and I went to get his new 69 sport fury convert out of storage. He let me drive it back home. He still has yet to drive his new car :) Its parked in the garage at home now until it gets a starter and a carb kit.

I did the same thing this weekend. I took the 56 Chevy to town on Friday and filled up the gas tank and when I returned home I parked it in front of the house with the for sale sign in the window (3 people stopped and asked about it). Then on Saturday I took the 48 out for about a 20 mile drive.

Was around 50 degrees here today. Did back the coupe out of the garage to clean the floor of the garage. Thought about taking the coupe for a ride since the streets are nice and dry now. But.......then my shoulder reminded me I should not do that without power steering. Must have pulled a muscle or something about two weeks ago. It's even hard to drive the van with power steering. Will just have to wait awhile I guess to take it out. Shoulder is better now, but still bothers me to do anything that strains that arm.
