While digging out a special deluxe badge to possibly sell I noticed 3 different designs to them. They all look the same from the front but some appear to be slightly thicker and there are 3 different looks to the back side.

I did notice the one style seems more prone to bending. But the one bent one I was able to bend back pretty easily. Out of all those there is only 1 missing mounting pin too. I didn't dig out my NOS set to see which style it is.

I have two different ones on my car - set to be replaced, imminently, with a matching pair.

If you look closely, you'll see the typeface on the thicker one is different to the thinner ones.

Check the U, for example.

It's also different at the first S and last E, as one style is infilled and the other isn't.

Now... where's my anorak!!!

Do you use the term 'anorak' in the US, meaning a pedantic specialist?

e.g. He's a real anorak when it comes to discussing his P15

Ed , I need to get the one's off my parts car . Whats the easiest way to remove these ? I tried for about a half hr or so on Saturday and didnt get very far as the wife and i had dinner plans . I was trying to loosen the fenders from the top and rear to sneak from behind . I found the fenders still didnt move out enough from the top allowing me to gain access . Do the fenders need to be removed entirely ?

Thanks Mike

Mike......are your outer fenders still attached to your inner fenders?

I believe the nameplates are held on by those flat, rectangular,

springy type fasteners. "Speed clips" I think they're called.

I think I was able to get behind mine, pried gently with a small

screwdriver and used some pliers to waggle the clips back and

forth. Takes a while to get the darn things off.

You really have to be able to get behind them. Bobs right on how they are attached. Most of the ones I have were removed with the fenders off the car.

Here's what mine looked like. I just unscrewed the clips, using a screwdriver to kind of push the clip around. Once I got them loose enough I removed them by hand. I purchased new clips at the local Ace hardware store. Man I miss that place, closed about a month ago. Lots of good bolts and other hardware I seem to always need. :(

Thx guys for the help . To be more precise i removed all the top bolts and the three on the back near the door thinking that should allow me access by pulling the fender out . Bob , I havent yet removed anything near the inner fenders ...yet . I guess that's what is not allowing me to pull the fender out enough .I'm not planning on keeping the frt or rear fenders as they are rusted more than i would feel comfortable trying to sell to someone , so i really dont want to remove them . I'll guess i'll just put my best foot forwards and accept the bruised up knuckles with a smile .
