What do you do with extra accumulated parts??

Buy a car to put them on, I guess.

Seems this one was for sale - so won't have to go out and hunt

for at least some things. Just have to find them in my "stuff" dept.

Bob, it's gonna be hard to top the convert. I get your point though, I have alot of spare parts around here. You can't go wrong with a coupe so dive right in.:) I was at the interior shop today and a guy I know has a 1934 chevy master 2dr sedan in there, baby blue with black interior almost finished. I just shook my head "man that thing was nice. He did it in secret. I love it when folks unveil stuff in the spring. Surprize em Bob

Gents,

Back to the original question, when I have duplicate parts I offer them to members of this forum for the price of postage. I got into doing it when mikemaker sent me some key blanks for my P-15 and refused compensation. I still have a few spare parts around and when I hear of somebody needing one of them it gets offered.

Don't thank me for this; thank mikemaker and whomever got him started doing it.

I don't have a lot Randroid, but what I can send on I do.

You are absolutely right that is what makes this forum great.

I was given, and so I will continue to help as needed.

For me it started with a friend, my first help and best advice came from Tim Adams, With Frankie's Ride...What a guy! Couldn't do it without you fellas!

Well, it kinda needed one of these things, hanging there......which had been

lying around in this building for a few years.

Then it had to be installed......by the same guy who put the engine in

the convert.

I think it's a 54 model engine, built in summer of 53.

This engine just happened to have a split manifold already on it....so now

has a pair of Cherry Bomb mufflers. They need some tweaking and some

manifold gaskets installed, have some short pipes to attach for now.

Don't know what color it will end up.....the current sort of coppertone

brown isn't real bad. There are quite a few new car colors that are

similar. Or, maybe yellow. Or.....who knows?

The seats and door panels pretty much go with the exterior.

Had to ream out the gas line inside the tank with a coat hanger....took

a while. Then coated the pinholes on the top with fiberglass. The inside

appears to have been coated with kind of white stuff in the past. Had been

sitting outside the past few years.

At one time the entire car had been this tan/yellow color. Evidently has been brown for

quite a while....don't think it was a very expensive paint job.

Was originally grey.

Now that it runs......the next thing is to make it stop......got no brakes.

Pumped up a little with new fluid added......have gone back down and

now won't pump up at all. Click on link to hear it run. Not much time

to mess with it....just been hit and miss. Have all new wheel cyls and

re-done master. Linings look pretty good.

Motor is just as it came out of the building. Same plugs, wires, etc.

Had to put on coil, carb, starter, generator, change bellhousing.

Same clutch, etc that was attached to it. Painted silver.

The accessories on the engine were from a 41 Plym, since that is

what the motor had been in. Was laying with the valve side down,

which kept them oiled.

It was sitting in a guy's back yard.....advertised in a local shopper paper.

Had to have it moved to a friend's house.

Engine out, but still had tranny.

Now has 14" wheels/tires.

If I keep it long enough, the wire wheels will probably go on,

with different tires.

Not bad Bob. I see you even got a saw blade thrown in with the deal.

Norm, Yeah, one day I noticed that blade. Seems to work just fine for

a spare holder. Interesting what people think up. I have a couple of

the actual hold downs to use eventually. The spare is a 15 inch tire,

probably an original rim. Have no idea what the 14" wheels are from....

they knocked off the guide pins from the hubs---might be Ford items.

Bob, you are making me dizzy. I love that coupe. All that work you've done. How did you find the time. Fantastic:) Bob I am now a fan. My goodness I have to turn my computer off or I'll have to get another project:D

Rodney, maybe you could talk Bob out of that fancy spare tire hold down. Then instead of another car you could get into woodworking as a project.:D :D
