I found this in my local Craigslist and thought that someone here might be interested!

Being the owner of a 42 2 door sedan I had to look.

I would have loved to see pictures.

I am starting to think that when people don't put a pic or a price up on a car for sale there is a very good reason. The car is either not matching the text they are writing or the price is not to reflective of market value.

I have never seen another 42 Dodge at a car show or on the streets. Of all the 42 Dodges I have seen on ebay, none of them were for the person without huge expertise or deep pockets.

That two door looks just like the one I found a few weeks ago but just one thing different is that its BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Hey! I got mine cheap. Of course there was a reason for that. Despite being told it only had surface rust and no holes in the floor,there are holes in the floor and the trunk that you could throw a cat through,and not one single piece of the exterior chrome was usable. Either too pitted to chrome,bent,or both. Even both headlight buckets were rusted out.

Then again,maybe I didn't get it so cheap?

I would love to have that washing machine, the wringer would be great for drying towels:) I don't think we appreciate the 42 models as much as we should. They are like the forgotten. After the Dec 7 event it's like the USA turned to the war effort, were these mopars ever blacked out like chevy's?

Rodney, you have to watch out for those wringers, I had my arm ran through one when I was a kid. I still have the scars from that.

And when they say that a flathead runs like a washing machine is this picture demonstrating that the motor can keep going after the car stops?

Really though I could use a few chrome pieces and I love the fog lights if there is any hope that the owner would sell them and if It is somewhat close by.

The guy finally sent me some photos.

Obviously a barn find! Can't tell much since it is packed in so tight and covered in dust. I shrunk the images 75% to get them smaller for posting. If anyone is interested I can forward the larger images to them. I do not know the guy selling it, just trying to get the car to a home that will care for it?

It certainly looks to be pretty darned complete.

I love 3 window coupes. Used to be a 42 5 window in a lot near me. Nice car, sat on consignment for a long long time.

Looking at a car like that makes me want to do another project. Good thing it is so far away.
