Young Ed Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Seller has them listed on ebay under just about every make from the 40s. They look quite nice but wonder if they are worth the $50. The pickup kinda has the plate out in the breeze so a frame to stiffen it up would be nice. On the coupe it would just be decoration. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/License-Plate-Frames-1935-36-37-38-39-40-41-42-Packard_W0QQitemZ190260127856QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190260127856&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14 Quote
oldmopar Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Since he has some many sets listed I would look around 1st he must be getting them from some where and marking them up. He has some listed for 49 and some for 59 Quote
Young Ed Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 Well the hunt is still on. Kanter appears to have them too. Not any cheaper though http://www.kanter.com/eCatalog/00013.htm Quote
Normspeed Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 I think I saw them in Bob Drake's catalog. Don't recall the price. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 So far I haven't found them on his site. Did find these which might work. Will have to measure. http://store.bobdrake.com/oldtimlicpla2.html Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 I searched high and low for a similar article as the 41 Georgia plate is much larger than the stock sized plate of today...I was not successful in finding one for that SET of tags..am sure I will have to have mine custom fabricated... Norm's Coupe Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 If you guys have one of Coker Tire's catalog, you'll find the adjustable license plate holders in it. Don't know the price since I wasn't interested in them, just saw them in the lower right hand corner of one of the pages. Guess you could also check their website, not sure if they are there though. With your big butt car the oversized plate should look normal. Quote
aero3113 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I would say I would go half with someone because I would only need one.But I do not think they will work on a 50 plymouth any ideas? Quote
Young Ed Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 Looked through the PDF version of the coker catalog and didnt see any plate frames. Quote

Ed, Like I said, I wasn't sure if they had them online. They are just a side line with Coker. They are in the paper catalog though. Give them a call on their 800 number and ask them about it. Or, have them send you a paper catalog. Lots of other neat stuff in it too. Quote
David Maxwell Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 ...accessory plate frames from Mopar. They were expandable so as to fit many size plates. I have seen several NOS sets go for over $200. Once I saw a set sell for nearly $400. So $50 sounds pretty good even if they are reproductions. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 (edited) This is the 54 accessory license plate..it is adjustable and will barely fit the larger 41 Georgia tag..but as I also hve a 54 Plymouth..she be on that car...and this is my registered YOM tag...open along the bottom...guess that is because of the lower mounting bar on most all the older Mopar car licnese bracket..
