greg g Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Here is the last video from yesterday. Had to find a different host site as it is over 100 MB which is the limit for most sites. We were holding 60 just before letting off for the curve at the top. http://www.dailymotion.com/plym_46/video/11732280 Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 hmmmmm runs for me. Wonder wheat the hold up is. Probably runs for you because you have the file on your own computer. Try clearing your cache or using a different computer to see if you can access the file on that site. I didn't try it myself so I don't know. Takes too long on dialup to download a video so I don't bother trying to look at any. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I'm still getting the same message. (not published) Publishing in progress. Will be available soon. Dennis:cool: Quote
greg g Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 OK went back and pushed a couple more buttons. lets try this http://www.dailymotion.com/plym_46/video/11732280 Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 That worked. Boy you sure get a nice view from your windshield, everything is Green. When I look out my windshield everything is brown. I sure like the videos of our cars going down the street. Dennis:D Quote

greg g Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 Dennis in my 4 or 5 trips out to the western states, my wife and daughter commented on that same subject several times. And even with breathtaking scenic panoramas of the Grand Canyon, Canyon Lands, the Bad Lands, Black Hills and others of note it sure gets brown west of the big muddy. Mountains and deserts have their undeniable beauty, but I alway like comig back home to our green valleys, and hills. Even when the leaves are off the trees and the ground is covered in snow, the contrasts still hold sway over the uniform brown. If you ever come to the north east, we'd be happy to show you around. Norm's Coupe Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I agree Greg. It's nice to see all the different colors in our neck of the woods. I did like the Bad Lands though last month when we were out there. But.......as you say, not much color involved as shown in this picture. But.......they do have some area's that look like ours such as like the Black Hills and Custer State Park. Lots of green in those areas. And the sunsets in eastern SD are great. Quote
greg g Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 The other thing I didn;t get used to out there was seeing about 30 miles down the string straight interstate and ot seeing any thing on either side of the road except pronghorn antelope (aka future road kill) Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Here is a road sign on Fort Irwin Road that, before I retired, I passed every day on my way home from work. Dennis:D Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Both the first and second videos worked ok for me. Fun stuff. Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Norm;Did you actually see the bad lands as pictured in your posting or were you standing next to someone who did? Yes Don, I took that picture myself. That one and the ones below are some more that were taken with the digital camera. I have many more better ones taken with my good old 35 mm Pentax camera, using old fashioned (but better) film. But.........still the pictures don't do them justice. You have to be there to really get the full benefit of the site. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Norm, to get the full effect of the badlands, drive through them in the dark. Its a little scary and makes you think you're on the moon. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Norm, to get the full effect of the badlands, drive through them in the dark. Its a little scary and makes you think you're on the moon. That could get a little hairy going down those hills and around those curves. Was using 2nd gear (drive 2) going down a lot of them. Sometimes even dropping down to Low gear, so I wouldn't have to use the brakes so much. Quote
