Dennis Hemingway Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 From what I understand that was a Dealer Installed or After Market item. Dennis:cool: Quote

Dennis Hemingway Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 We had a member here who had plans on how to make one. But I don't remember who it was. Then we had another member who was selling LED light kits. That was Frank M. Dennis:cool: Quote
martybose Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 There really isn't much to one of these; just a bent piece of metal holding a bulb socket at the extreme back edge of the plastic insert. I've never heard about an LED variant; was it 6V or 12V? Marty Quote

Marty I think it was both. Here is a link to the Thread. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=4653 Dennis:cool: Quote
greg g Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I used a GM soft plastic side marker light socket. Squeezes in and has stayed for 5 years. still using the 12 V bulb on 6v. using the amber color. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I don't think it was a dealer item......more lilely aftermarket. As was said, a pretty simple affair. Here's one I have. I'm actually using two lights like that now.....one in front of the other, to spread the light more since I got the new plastic piece which is really clear. It doesn't spread the light like the old piece that was kind of crackled. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 Does anyone have one of the accessory booklets put out by Chrysler Corp? They should list the accessories available in that era from the company. Quote
David Maxwell Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 ...downloads section of this site. No hood ornament light was listed, however, I have seen dealer booklets that had more accessories than the ones pictured in this booklet. Can't remember if the hood light was in one of those. Most likely after market, but a fun addition regardless. 47heaven Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 ...but the light socket assembly was shot and I couldn't find one on Ebay, so I rigged an accessory light into the ornament assembly it lit up pretty nice, but since the plastic was pretty clear, it didn't aluminate through out the whole thing, so I installed another in thye assembly and now it shines like a beacon at night.
