Nice looking car. The top bar on the grille is the same as a D25. Is the grille potmetal or stainless steel? I notice that the hood strip behind the ornament is painted and also the windscreen surround. Those are polished stainless on the D25. Most parts from the P15-D25 will fit your car. Brendan.

The griie is all stainless except for the parking lights as they come rom the D25 . I also have one of theese & another desoto as parts cars + a Plymouth that will one day grace the road again. The hood stripe was not on when the photo was taken and our cars did not have the bright trim around the windscreen. I hope to post more pictures on so as to show the differances between our model and yours.:D

Cool pic.....Welcome. Looks as if that DeSoto was built using the

Plymouth P15 body.

Yes but they used the roofline and top of the doors from a 39 Dodge from what i have found out. Will post more pictures to show theese differances.:D

Body by Richards. Only fenders and engine hood interchange with US models.

Note exterior door hinges. No parts books were available for these cars until 1953 !! Special Deluxe badges are missing ?

Still have to straighten out & fill holes . Also put a couple of other pics of my other cars just to show im' a mopar man to the core:D

Int-er-esting......P15 style brake light, trunk handle, tail lights with older

type trunk lid. P15 looking side stainless . That's quite a Heinz 57

mixture. Pretty darn neat though. Glad to have you along.

There was for sale near here a year or so back, a 1951 Japanese export

DeSoto......looked just like a 51 Plymouth except for the grille and emblems.

Had been brought back to the states by a service man in the 1950s. Was

left hand drive.

dodge2.jpgpair1.jpgsteer1.jpg figured out how to put more than one pic on . the other cars are 1923 Dodge tourer & a 1933 Dodge sedan i own.

Desoto badge on deck lid is incorrect it's from a S11. SP15C badge was from 1942 US Desoto with Blue and white cloisonne and very hard to find.

Thanks i have that one on the wreck out back in the paddock will have to swap it back this was the one on the car when i got it and i thought they just changed it with the years as a differance.l

Great car! I knew that roofline was something special as soon as I saw the photo.

Back in high school days when my daily was a P15 2 door sedan, I would have killed for that grille!

Hi

Thats a nice 33 Dodge.

Can u give us some more pics and info on it plse.

Thanks,

Manuel in Oz

Hi Manuel i have owned this car for about 12 years third owner since new . I dont have much info on first owner but know that durring the war was stored and was sold to an English imagrint after the war. I bought it off his son in Melbourne. When bought it had been off the road for 2 years and in that time the roof had failed and the interior was all water damaged plus a little frame rot as it is a wooden frame. All numbers on the car match witch is the hardest thing to get as it is the model with the 3 1/8 bore motor used only that year. i have been on 2 Bay to Birdwood Rallys with this car unfortunally on one ocasion ihad the diff fail and could not make it to the start . 03082008.jpg

Thanks i would love to get a convertible or coupe and put the spare grille i have in but they are as rare as anything over here. Have only seen one since i started collecting and lust after it every time i see it. Have put another pic of the roofline in have been told it is a 40-41 roofline and upper doors. This was before interior was done i change it from the dark brown to off white as it was just to dark inside. :D

The trunk lid and rear valance are differnet than state side P's ad D's also. Is the brake lamp embossed with a design? Nice to see a close up od it.

Thanks for the pics mate.

What happened to the diff and where did u get the parts to fix it.

Manuel

Got a spare from a guy who was rodding it the old one is still stuck in the housing . I think when the bearing let go it sheered the spline . 33 and 34 diff are the same other years the housing changed from what i can tell.
