I didn't think it would fit, but never tried. I hung it on the garage wall?

I have one of those caps; came with the boatload of parts I got when I purchased my 48 B1D?

Max, Just wanted to chime in. French Lake Auto Parts here in Minnesota, and Elmer's Auto Salvage in Fountain City Wisconsin would be worth calling. They both have a lot of old cars. Let us know what you come up with.?

9-28-19: At the Travel Plaza. We grabbed some mini pizzas and a drink (my 2 older kids rode along). The truckers like to stay overnight. Pic 2: My friend's camper. He keeps it parked there because it's fun. And his son owns the Plaza ? Pic 3: Ready to take off. The bright light is a street lamp. We cruised at 45-50. On the way home a group of farmers were by a field road after harvesting soybeans. They waved. It was dark by then. I wondered how the Meadowbrook looked in the dark. It was a nice, peaceful, toasty ride. Just the way I like it ?

9-28-19: Out for a cruise tonight at dusk. Perfect weather; about 60 degrees and no wind. Turned on the heat for a bit. I like to have my window open a bit with the heat on low. Good mixture of heat and cool air battling each other. 25 mile round trip to the Travel Plaza (fancy name for the Sinclair gas station... they have a restaurant there too) to visit a friend who was working there. He's one of the guys that helped me pull the engine and put it back in. He was happy to see the Meadowbrook. Couple pics while warming up.

Looks great! ? -
In 1986 my best friend bought a 65 Ford Mustang with a 289 and 90K miles on it for $2300. It was a pretty good deal. Not much rust, had the original blue paint with white interior, floor shift automatic. It even had all the hub caps. Ran really good too, and we thought we were cool every time we beat a 350 Camaro by a car length from a stop light. We'd cruise by the lake and gaze at the college "women" (jeez their just girls now) tanning in their bikinis. We always had to scrape together our spare change just to put a dollar fifty cents worth of gas in it to cruise around for just a little longer. The damn car was dangerous as all hell, though. Those light ass-ended Mustangs would get loose around corners, in the rain, in the snow, etc. Winter of 86-87: after school my friend asks me if I want to ride with him to my place, because he wants to talk to my brother about something. (My brother graduated in 84, so we knew he'd be home after work). I declined because I was big into weightlifting at the time, and I wasn't going to miss a workout to go see my a**hole brother whom I still shared a bedroom with. Not going saved my life. My friend lost control of the Mustang on a snowy corner, hit the gravel on the side of the pavement, flipped upside down and wrapped it around a telephone pole on the passenger side. The passenger side seat was mashed into nothing. The car was a complete wreck. I would've died, seat belt on or not. My friend was a big guy, six foot five, 240lbs. He kicked the windshield out and started to walk toward my place, which was another 5 miles. Another school friend was out riding snowmobile and picked him up. He dropped my friend off at my place and my brother said he was all bloody and his leather coat was torn up. He ended up pissing blood for about a week but turned out with only minor scratches and bruises. After I saw the wrecked Mustang I was horrified. My guardian angel was looking out for me that day. My friend's old man bought him a 77 Volare with a slant six as a replacement. It was a complete dog compared to the 289. We made fun of the car singing Dean Martin's "Volare!" over and over again while we drove around depressed as hell and embarrassed to be seen in it. It didn't have any rust, and was light blue with a matching interior, automatic on the column. I don't know what ever happened to the car. But I know this now. I'd take that Plymouth over that damn Rustang any day of the week. What a cool car that Volare was. Just didn't know it at the time. Latest Mopar experience: I looked at the Meadowbrook today and remembered I need to change the plugs and tranny oil LOL

I enjoyed your last post featuring the 58 Vette. BTW, I'd take your car over any year Vette without a second thought! My car does really well too with everything on at once: heater, lights, wipers, etc. Not a damn thing wrong with our 6v systems. Thanks for posting, I was hoping you would!?

Post pics please ?

Sweet! I like that you made use of the oil bath.?

Center of the picture; the rear end is above the hood of the red Chevy station wagon. ?

Mayhem: Pic 1:. We stopped at "Mangos" in Winona, MN for dinner. We were starved! Pic 2:. Finally home. It was about a 200 mile round trip. Car ran great, got lots of looks. Talked to a few people about it when we weren't walking around. People always seem to like the hood ornament, and the originality of the car. While at the event we enjoyed home made ice cream, fresh kettle corn, browsing through the vendors' things, seeing folks dressed up rockabilly style, and talking to people. The vintage campers were going to have trick-or-treating through their area later in the evening. I'm embarrassed to admit I forgot to snap even one photo of the campers. Must've been 25+ of them.

Mayhem: The Meadowbrook is in one of the two pics. Can you find it?
-
Mayhem: One guy had this awesome GM bus with a diesel engine. He let us sit in it. What a cool thing to drive to the event! It still had a change/coin thingy up by the driver, and he could cycle the destination banner on the front above the windshield.

Mayhem: Pic 1: Nice Plymouth Pic 2: Wife changing baby between our car and a Chevy station wagon.

I liked his creativity with an old piston. Pic 2: this car said "Highlander" on the fender and had that awesome interior and funky flaked steering wheel.
-
Mayhem: I liked the Dodge truck. 1960 I believe. I talked to the owner of the 1950 Chrysler. He sold the original flattie and replaced it with a 302 Ford ?
-
Mayhem: All settled in to our spot. It rained all the way there, but settled down after about half an hour and then turned sunny. There were a number of unique Mopars, but we had the only Meadowbrook ?

9-14-19: Mississippi Mayhem! in West Salem, WI the whole weekend. Cars, bikes, vintage campers, pin-up contest, swap meet, drag races, burn out contest, food vendors, etc. Nothing judged. Pre- '64 separate from all other cars. Left home about 11am and got home around 8:30pm. Wish I could've towed a vintage camper behind the Meadowbrook and stayed there the entire weekend. Pic: Got the stroller and lawn chairs packed. Tool box was in there too?

Awesome!! Congrats on the purchase. I'm very happy to hear that you're going to drive the wheels off of it ? Wherever you drive it and whatever you do with it post your adventures right here!

9-10-19: Kids and I cruised (or creeped as I usually say?) around town for about an hour. 2nd gear, no clutch at stop signs. Lots of stares and waves as always. We have so much fun just putzing around! My son asked me if I had the only Meadowbrook left in the country. ? I told him there were likely hundreds, maybe even a couple thousand. He asked why we never see any around? I told him we have the only one around here. ? He seemed satisfied with that. Pics when I was putting it away:

I hope that you can bring it home. It's beautiful!

You're right, the battery cable mounts on top of the head. It was like that when I bought it, I guess I never thought any different of it. I did change both cables out to the 00 type. Now I'm wondering where everyone else has their cable mounted?
