  1. 12-19-20: Out with the Meadowbrook today. Filling up at Sinclair. Enhanced photo using some tools on my phone. Nobody knows how those big gouges found their way onto the car.
  2. That was fun to read through, thanks for sharing!?
  3. I hope to see it posted here soon!
  4. Your drawings are fantastic. I'm stunned at how good they are. You should pick up a pencil again; it's never too late. I waited 30 years to pick up a brush for an oil painting. Glad I got going again even though I don't find it easy.
  5. Wow! Nice work!?
  6. Very nice Keith! I enjoyed that ?
  7. Meadowbrook at the beach ?
  8. My '48 up on blocks
  9. I had to Google him lol. Got it ?
  10. Just recently drew Jesus in colored pencil.
  11. Post your art. Maybe you draw, paint, weld things, woodworking, etc. I did this 1930s gangster today in acrylic abstract.
  12. 12-11: Drove the Meadowbrook to work yesterday; first time this week. This morning the kids and I took off to visit my brother. It was a nice drive. Although my brother and I didn't go for a cruise this time, we discussed the Meadowbrook and many other cars we used to own. On the way home we stopped at Kwik Trip for lunch. Also, in the other pic is a sample of a cobblestone street here in Winona. There are a number of them left, and they seem to be holding up despite their age. I'm not certain, but I'm assuming they were laid in the 1920s or 30s. I'll have to research that.
  13. Don't sell it! It's okay that progress is at a standstill or very slow. All of us have been through similar situations and are maybe still going through it. Like me with my 48 Dodge truck. I've had it 2 years now and to things are slow going. But it's okay. There's no time limit, and it's not a race. And you're young!
  14. Dec. 6: Couple more pics for everyone. I'm totally okay with no snow. I'm sure old man winter is just waking up though. ?
  15. Sunday, December 6: Sunny and near 40F today, so I took the kids out for a ride after I completed a modest amount of work on my '48 B1D. When filling up at Sinclair, a gentleman whom I guess to be in his 80s walked by on his way into the store and said "great car!" I was happy he noticed. We went for about a 50 mile drive. Gosh it was fun! I cycled the heater periodically. One of the pictures shows the BP gas station across the street from Sinclair; out of business for quite some time now.
  16. Welcome! Love your truck. Keep us updated ?
  17. Does anyone here use their old Mopar to advertise their business or website, etc? Logos on the side, decals on the windows, maybe parked somewhere strategically? Post pics if you do. I'd love to see them. I have an idea for my vehicles. It's in the works...
  18. 11-29: Later, my daughter and I went out again. This time we took my computer with so I could record some sounds of the Meadowbrook for an audio story I'm working on: Engine start, acceleration, idle, horn, etc. I'll post my recording when I finish it.
  19. 11-29: We even hit the McDonald's drive thru.
  20. 11-29: Here we are at Fleet Farm to grab some mouse traps. Got two of the little devils in the past day and a half. After driving the Meadowbrook I always kill my F-150 at least once. The clutch in that is so unforgiving. ?
  21. 11-29: During the short work week, I hadn't driven the Meadowbrook at all. We had some sloppy, heavy snow that's perfect for making rust holes even bigger. Anyway, the kids and I took it out last night for a short cruise and to run some errands. Here we are warming up. Only needed the heater for a bit; it was near 50F yesterday.
  22. 1935 Dodge Brothers pickup with suicide doors. Teens/twenties DB roadster with the solid wheels.
  23. When we took out the pistons from the Meadowbrook engine, 5 of them had broken rings; (several breaks per) not from removing the actual pistons. Yeah, every engine is different. I'll think you'll be fine. ?
  24. Keith, there's probably a number of fellas here that have used a ridge reamer and made it work, and some that have screwed up when using it; they might not have chimed in yet. I agree with Matt Wilson though. Please don't use it and risk making a mistake you can't undo. I haven't used a ridge reamer on an engine, but I know how they work. As a machinist, it's something I'd call a "hack" tool. There's no way that thing is square, and no way you're going to know exactly how much material you're going to remove. In addition, it's really not even a reamer, it's an adjustable bore bar at best. I've reamed and bored thousands of holes on manual mills and lathes, and on the (3) $500,000 each dual spindle dual turret Nakamura CNC lathes I operate at work every day. I've used adjustable bore bars (and true adjustable reamers), and this reamer that's being discussed here is something I would never consider using on a good engine. Please don't use it.
