  1. In the state of high taxes, gas is down to 1.91.9 in the next town ten miles east of here, 2.09.9 at the Citgo here in our little hamlet. My son in Oklahoma called yesterday, he said gas was 1.95 where he lives between Lawton and OKC
  2. Claybill, IF you go to see it, take photos please:)
  3. Worth saving, better buy a frame to put it in:)
  4. After the Giants game finished, I switched it to FOX, just in time to watch a C-130 fly low to drop some flame retardent, boy those pilots sure do their business, it looked like they were just above the power lines. They also said that the winds are suppose to die down, sure hope so for everybody out there
  5. You didn't mention how close your home was to the fires, I hope that all is ok with you and yours. Too bad such a thing has to happen
  6. Isn't that Harley Earle's Buick?
  7. Here is a photo that I took this Spring driving down the road, I made sure that there was no traffic when I took the photo. As you can see, the view is good thru the windshield, even with the outside Fulton Sunvisor
  8. USAF Dec of '68 to Dec of '72 I have one son that will have 20 years in the USAF in Jan of '09 and another son that was discharged in '01 from the USAF So you can see, I am a proud Veteran also and Happy Veteran's Day to all Veterans and thanks so much for all that was given
  9. The photo that John Reddie posted, reminded me of the Sullivan Richardson story about driving a new '41 Plymouth 4dr sedan from Detroit to Cape Horn in late '40 and '41. AWESOME reading
  10. Glad that you were able to enjoy the woodie this weekend. Again congrats:)
  11. I check this site and the POC numerous times a day, this site gets much more TRAFFIC
  12. Jim, Congrats on the 80 plus miles. Here is to many more miles of trouble free Plymouth driving:)
  13. I agree about stop lights, the first few times that I drove the Plymouth I made the mistake of driving up to the light like I would in a newer car, well after the crick in my neck a couple of times, now if I pull up the a traffic light and am the first vehicle there, I don't pull up as close as I normally would to the line.
  14. The outside sunvisor looks great, I have always liked them on the 40's and early 50's vehicles. Growing up my Uncle John had a late 40's GMC pickup with the outside sunvisor, so naturally when I got my Plymouth 20 years ago this month one of the first things I did was save some money and bought a Fulton sunvisor from Moores in Rapid City. In fact my youngest son Shane, who is 27, has had a 1951 Chevy 4dr sedan that he got an outside sunvisor from Big Jim's. So needless to say we enjoy our outside visors very much. Thanks for sharing
  15. I was the tenth person to vote this morning at 6:15am in our little hamlet
  16. Reg, My son checked the gears last evening, all is good, but I have decided that I should hang on to it. Sorry
  17. I will take the top off in the morning and check it out
  18. Opps, I forgot to mention that I don't know if everything works, but knowing the man I got if from, I would say that it is in good working order
  19. Reg, I have one that I was told came out of a '39 Plymouth, but I am in the Catskills.. It still has the e brake and shifting lever on it
  20. Did you get it fixed so you could take it for another drive today?
  21. Congrats on your first outing Can you post some photos?
  22. Still snowing here, along with being very windy, about three inches so far. School was let out early so my wife came home and put a beef potroast in the oven along with with potatoes and carrots, then she made home made gravy. YUM YUM YUMMY Don, we haven't turned the furnace on for heat as of yet, don't want to use the fuel oil, but we have had the woodstove going for over a week now
  23. Well, it finally happened today here in the Catskills, we have gotten our first snow of the season, the town has put down plenty of SALT, so now the '40 will have to stay put in the garage until we get some rain and warmer weather to clean off the roads We aren't suppose to get the heavy snow that they are calling for in Syracuse or the Plattsburgh area, but they are calling for 3-7 inches of snow down here.
  24. My '40 has a '41 engine in it with a grease fitting on the water pump. The old pump gave up the ghost a few years ago and that one had a grease fitting also
  25. Norm, Thanks for posting the photos, always enjoy seeing "old iron" from other parts of the states. I have one son and his wife who live about an hour or so southwest of Oklahoma City. We have been out to visit numerous times and each time I am amazed at the number of old vehicles that just sit along the roads. Other than sundrenched paint and smokey glass they appear to be in great shape compared to what is available here in New York. Isn't retirement great, almost six years for me now since I retired. Loving every minute of it. Enjoy, Bob
