  2. Tim, I haven't seen any Black Label down here in almost 30 years:(
  3. I whole heartly agree. I have been carrying wood to the basement while my wife has been baking homemade sugar cookies, then she used confectionary sugar to make a frosting to put on them. Needless to say I have had my share already, and YES, the house sure SMELLS GREAT
  4. Yes, we lived just outside of Hamilton for about 16 yrs, I am from the Plattsburgh area, but my wife is from the Hamilton area I knew better, when I reread the post that I had put the wrong numbers for the radio station

We both grew up on dairy farms, so I guess that is one of the reasons why Also how about the Timax (sp) commericial where John Cameron Swayze would day, "takes a licken and keeps on ticken"
  8. Two parts for me. 1) being that my '40 Plymouth had the running board delete option, I have only been able to find the driver's side stainless steel rocker panel moulding. 2) Again being that the car had the running board delete option, I have been unable to find the rear fender gravel shields
  9. looks good Jim
  10. After work yesterday I fired up the Plymouth, drove five miles east to the next town to have this photo taken. I wish I could have gotten some photos of the looks on the driver's faces as I was driving the Plymouth dressed in my Santa outfit, but was unable to do do, they would have been PRICELESS:) But I do have one that I would like to share with eveyone. I know it is early, but Merry Christmas to all
  11. Chet, Looking good, Spring will be here before you know it:) Sure do enjoy seeing these old girls come back to LIFE!! Bob
  12. Rodney, It is 17 degrees here right now. This past Sunday I had Old Plymouth withdrawel, so I went out in the garage, turned on the Giants game, with a eggnog and spiced rum and sat in the Plymouth to watch the game. My son came out in the garage, shook his head, and said "Dad, you are crazy". By the way, his '51 Chevy 4dr sedan sits in the bay next to my '40 Plymouth Just had to share
  13. Question, I noticed on the '40 Taxi that it didn't have the stainless on the running boards. I have seen a few other photos of other '40 Plymouth taxi's that appear not to have the stainless moulding also. I wonder if they were removed so they wouldn't get damaged as the car came up the the curbs?
  14. Here is one from June of 1945 that shows a 1942 Plymouth in the upper right corner
  15. Don, Thanks for sharing the photos, good looking old taxies By the way, was Jr Sample's phone number BR548?

  18. Thanks for posting the old black and white and colored photos, I througly enjoy looking at the old photos. You should post a story about your trip, it would make for very interesting reading by all of us
  19. Bob, Have you got the three P15 ads that came out just after the war? The one with the sign on the garage door, then the basically the same ad with the new P15 sitting in the driveway and the other one with Grandma and Grandpa in the Kitchen with their family showing up in a new P15 in the window. I have all three and I think they are great:) I would be willing to copy them to send to you if you don't have them
  20. When we installed my headliner just over a week ago in my '40 Plymouth business coupe, we started at the rear
  21. Being a proud owner of a 1940 Plymouth, sure would like to see more photos of that '40 Taxi if possible It sure is one nice looking car Is it an original taxi?
  22. I forgot to mention that we used double back carpet tape on the rear of the shelf once we had the material drawn tight, then we used the hog rings
  23. I don't know if I can explain the proceedure well enough, but here goes......... My car is a '40 Plymouth Business Coupe, I started by hanging the headliner by the bows, starting in the rear working towards the windshield. Once that was done, then I centered the material so that there was the same amount on each side of the car. Once that was done, my son was in the trunk to pull the material tight and we then cut a X shaped cut above the rear window at the interior light, then attached the interior light to hold the material tight, once that was done, we attached the rear window garnish moulding, again while my son is in the trunk holding the material tight. Once that was done we used hog rings to hold the material tight along the rear of the shelf. We then installed the rear side window garnish mouldings, from there we went to the windshield garnish moulding and installed that.. Using a plastic putty knife, we did the driver's side above the door, gently pushing the material between the windlace and serrated metal pieces that are above the door, that proceedure was repeated on the passenger side, then we cut the material out of the rear window and side windows, using single bladed razor blades. Aterwards we again used the plastic putty knife to push the threads under the garnish mouldings We didn't use any moist spray or a hair dryer, but the wrincles aren't too bad and in the past week a good share of them have gone away. Hope this helps, not professional by any means, but I am very pleased with the out come. By the way, there was three of us that installed the headliner
  24. I went the cheap way and used carpet underlayment, it has worked well to this point, which is about five years. I don't imagine it was the correct way to do it, but sure was alot cheaper. I got my headliner from Pro-Antique Auto Parts, installed it last week, very pleased Speedway Motors advertises "Dynamat" , but my thoughts are that it is expensive
  25. Opps, my mistake, he said gas was 1.59 were he livesm not the price I quoted in the previous post. Sorry about that:mad:
