  1. Neil do you have a camera in my house? How did you know I was in the corner??
  2. I don't think it looks that bad. I that a hood scoop or just a weird reflection?
  3. Here is a link also for some floors http://www.rcarfabrications.com/home.aspx?storename=rcar
  4. dont throw out your tooth brush I think it has magical powers. Do you have any pictures of your teeth?
  5. Reg, I see this is your kitchen, I see the fridge in the background and the mixing bowl on the table. What does your garage look like???
  6. Does anyone have a picture of a cross section of weather stripping that would fit on a 50 Plymouth. Would like to see what shape it is supposed to be.
  7. The previous owner of my 50 Plymouth did a crappy job of painting the door jambs and around the inside of the door.He did it with a brush and did not clear over it. It was very dull and peeling in spots(weird because the rest of the car is painted fine). It always bugged me when I had the doors open. I went to the local hardware store and found a can of Rustoleum "Harbor Blue". The results came out better than expected:D. I wish I took a before picture.
  8. Ive been wondering how Joel's project has been going. I have not seen him on the forum in a while.
  9. My passenger door never shut right and it always looked like it was open when shut also had to slam it to get it to shut. When I first got my 50 Plymouth there was no weather stripping on the driver side but there was on the passenger side. No matter how much I adjusted the passenger door it would not shut right. Thanks to this post (got me thinking), I just decided to go to the garage and remove the weather stripping on the passenger door. Now it shuts and lines up perfect . I guess the previous owner had to thick of a seal on for it to close right. Now I have to get the right seals for both doors.
  10. I was under my 50 Plymouth today and found a rust hole in the front end. It is not that big and is a little soft around it but the rest of the area is solid. Is it anything I should worry about? I put my hand up above where the hole is and there is about a half inch of dirt. I guess the dirt got wet over the years and caused the rust. Here is a pic, you can see the hole to the left of the pivot.
  11. Michael where do you live? I see your area code is 516, that is Nassau County on Long Island.
  12. True. Do I use gloss, semi gloss or flat black paint?
  13. I ended up using a product made by permitex. It is a spray that neutralizes the rust and turns it black. I am still deciding if I should spray paint them black.
  14. I don't think the right side should give me as much of a problem since I did have it off about a year ago. I will get at it once I fully recover from the left side.
  15. I know a 50 Chevy emblem kinda looks like a upside down Plymouth emblem. Maybe they are trying to pass it off as one.
  16. How much were they asking for it ? My wife would kill me, LoL.
  17. When I first bought my 50 Plymouth the hood emblem was on upside down. I also see that on e-bay auctions or just random pics of Plymouth's. Is there a reason or do people not realize it is on upside down. Here is a pic when I first took the car home, look at the emblem
  18. Its for the leaf springs cosmetic only (also do not want it to get worse). Will Rustoleum hold up to flexing?
  19. I have some POR 15 left over should I use that or just get some rustoleum?
  20. I was thinking that also. Maybe use boshield. It drys to a light waxey coating.
  21. A few months ago I had my rear leaf springs replaced. When I was removing my rear drum I noticed alot of surface corrosion on them. The rust is very lite and will clean up with scotch bright. Should I just remove the rust and spray with a quality paint? What would you guys do?
  22. When I removed the brake drum I only adjusted the minor brake adjustment. When I put the drum back on I adjust the minor adjustment till the pad hits the drum and back off till it no longer makes contact. Is that correct? I would like to do this to all of the brakes to compensate for wear.
  23. Now I am wondering if I should try to take the right side off to inspect
  24. Well I just finished jumping up and down and running around in circles in the garage (No joke). The hub is OFF!!!!!! :D:D:D. I borrowed a air compressor and some air tools from a friend. I tightened down the puller this time using grade 8 bolts nuts and washers. I used a long breaker bar to tighten the puller had to loosen it a few times to tighten the bolts. I heated the hub alot and tried using a air hammer on the hub while the puller was tight and it did nothing. Used a impact gun on the puller to get it as tight as possible and banged on the side of the hub and nothing happened. I was just about to give up and decided to try the sledge on the puller one more time. I banged on it about ten times each time harder and harder letting all of my frustration out on it. On the last hit BANG! It took me a little bit to realize that the hub popped off and not one of the bolts breaking. Here are some pics of the hub off you can see that I even bent the grade 8 bolts also look at the corrosion on the inside of the hub and on the spindle.
  25. wayfarerstranger is going to be sending me a left rear drum with bolts. So things are starting to look good Now just have to worry about getting the hub off.
